Check the battery and look for a sticker on the back, it should pink poka dotted, if its completely pink, it means it got wet.

2010 Honda Odessey Handicap Van won't start after sitting for a couple of days. Have a new battery best from Sears. Mileage is @7K miles. and we don't use the van to often.

Not clear what is happening but you say it does not run a lot of miles. I do know even with a new battery the van must run every once in a while to keep the battery charged up. Batteries run down just sitting and has to run at least a number of miles to charge up. I suggest you purchase a little battery charger that you can leave hooked up to the battery all the time and when you want to use the van just pull the plug out of your extension cord. Then plug it back in when you are back home. That way you know the battery is charged fresh all the time. You might want to have the battery checked for power just to make sure the battery is operating properly. Any place that sells batteries should do this for free.

this generally indicates a bad battery, try to purchase a replacement battery

Battery will not hold a charge

Sadly phone batteries don't have the long life they used too. There isn't a lot you can do besides purchase a new battery. Samsung only covers the battery for one year from date of purchase, so you might be able to get a replacement if you have had it for less than a year. Otherwise, eBay is your friend. You can extend the life of the battery by changing some habits of how you use the device.
- Let the battery run completely down about (dead phone) about once a month. This helps ensure a longer life.
- Try to avoid using car chargers. The power provided isn't always the most stable and can greatly shorten the life of your battery.
Once you get a new battery, don't charge it right away. Let it run down the first time to empty before first time charge. That will ensure a long, healthy battery life.

LG VX8300 will not make or receive calls.

If it's getting hot - the battery is bad. Once the battery heats up, they can become a fire hazard! Seriously - I know it's kind of funny, but replace the battery. This will probably solve your "not holding a charge problem". You can usually get a battery on ebay for around $5. And usually you can turn around and sell the phone on craigslist for $50 once you get your new one..

If it doesn't get signal with a new battery - the internal antenna is probably faulty - this will happen if it's been dropped one too many times, or had some other sort of hard impact.

LG vx8300-after getting a new battery the phone just about went dead in 3 days. When charger is on, the screen just says verizon wireless and then sometimes displays the battery is charging. When...

Is the battery the same type as the previous one? If not try to find if the one you have purchased can be used with your phone. In the case the battery is compatible with your phone, since you are having problems, just return it to the store you bought it from, cause there is high chance it is destroyed.

VX8300 Phone! Problem!!

JJulie, I had a similiar problem with my phone (lg vx8300) where it would show a white screen saying "use genuine battery" and then power off automatically. Although there was no contact with liquid, there were signs of water damage (high humidity in my area, camera lens had some moisture) on the battery and phone. If you open the battery door, look at the bottom edge of the battery (where positive and negative posts are), and the spot on the phone located where the battery would line up with this dot. If either/both dots are red, then there has been liquid damage, and you will need to replace the phone. I understand that this is not good news, for me it meant that I had to pay to replace the entire unit. Check to see if you have insurance with your phone plan to get a lower cost replacement. Sorry for your loss, and hope this helped.

Lg vx8100 error message on screen: use genuine battery. power off 10 sec cuts off

Not exactly a solution. I tried leaving it off overnight and tried it several times after removing and inserting the batteries. I also cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and a Q tip. It did not fix it. But I just left it off for 2 days meaning to go to the Verizon store and get it fixed or replaced. But I turned it on now and it fixed itself! Model VX8300. Maybe the contact cleaning did it but it had to dry more. You can use a Q Tip dipped in a cup of water with a teaspoon of Mr.Clean. But then rinse it with a water wet Q tip and then dry it with a paper towel. I used contact cleaner.
