37mf231d power light flashes on and off will turn on after you keep trying
I have the same problem with my 37 inch magnavox after playing with it for a while it will turn on and if it has been on and you shut it down it will turn back on right away. It seems to be a relay or a power up circuit problem.

You need to check power rails and look for bulging capacitors near heat sources. I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions. I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.
The number of flashes indicate an error code, you should call the customer help line that is in your owners manual and relay the number of flashes to the operator and they will assist you in a solution.
that depends on the value of the television and the cost of replacing the power supply and connections.
Most likely you have a short in your power supply or other connections causing the tv to protect itself by shutting down. You can check with our Repair Service lookup icon for a repair service near you.
Before you call them you may try unplugging your unit for 30 minutes or so and plugging it back in.
Calm down Calm down. The problem is quite simple. You need to change one maybe two capacitors. Upon removing back cover. Look to the left, after removing foil tape, remove screws and flipover the board. The first cap to go down may have abulge on top or black tar oozing out the top. It is a 25volt 2200mf cap gone bad. Replace it. Second, sometimes and just sometimes next to thatone is 35volt 1200mf cap goes bad......remember just sometimes. You may have to replace it as well.
Dont know if its the same model but Ive seen a few with a cold solder joint on a switching relay in the Vertical circuit do this.. (Be careful if its a CRT TV.. 27.5KV is common off the flyback transformer).. 27,500 Volts.. Good luck!
