Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players
The low cost of consumer electronics combined with the high cost of repair services means that it often makes sense to simply replace a damaged MP3 player. You have to weigh the cost of repairs versus the cost of a replacement as well as other costs involved. For example, if you are upgrading to a new model of MP3 player will you also need to replace any accessories you have that might not be compatible? If you have the unit repaired, is it liable to fail again and need another repair? How much value do you place on having a new one-year manufacturer's warranty?
The decision is ultimately a personal one and often there is no clear correct answer.
I don't know the extent of the damage to the Zune or exactly how much a repair would cost. To determine the likely cost of repair, you should contact Zune support through their website: http://www.zune.net. Once you have that information you can make a more educated decision.
