My double drawer dishwasher has had this problem twice. The first time it was under warranty and determined to be installed improperly. Six months later the lower drawer won't drain and now the top drawer won't drain. This seems like a lemon

There are 14 diagnostic codes - HO, bl, FU, etc. I know that "FU" is fill up but cannot find the others. I have a problem with the unit not draining.

Solve cross-draining problems with your Doule-Dishdrawer permanently!

Are you experiencing cross-draining problems with your older Fisher Paykel double dish drawer? Have you had a succession of technicians and service companies try to solve this problem, only to have it return again?
There is a reason this is happening to you and there is a way to fix it FOREVER.
In most cases, this problem can be traced to an improper installation. Fisher Paykel double-dishdrawers are in effect TWO dishwashers with two seperate drain hoses. Often times they are installed with an "air gap" which is required by many municipalities for code compliance. Installers who are used to installing "single" dishwashers often install a "single air gap" with a Y-adapter that connects both drawers to a single air gap, and to be fair, this is shown in the install instructions for the product. However it will usually not work for very long. The reason being, there is a small neoprene "check valve" in the base of the pump on both drawers. It is designed to keep the water from the last drain cycle from running back into the machine once the cycle stops. It was never designed to prevent the cross-drain condition. Over time the pressure from the water that wants to come from the other drawer will weaken that flap, causing it to "leak" and the result is when one drawer is run, the dirty water from one drawer drains partly into the other drawer. (YUCK!) Most techs will replace the flap, thinking they have solved the problem, and for awhile, yes, it will.
But this can get kind of expensive having to call for repairs every year or so.

The proper and permanent fix for this situation if to install a DUAL AIR GAP which can be purchased from Fisher Paykel parts: http://fisherpaykelparts.net/index.php?categoryid=1&productid=7

This device is totally "co-axial" in design and will not allow water from one drawer to get into the other. It also is "kosher" in that some Jewish families have a "meat" and "dairy" dishwasher and the two can never be mixed. If there is cross-draining going on, that is "not Kosher!" (pun yes, reality also!) This part will insure no cross-contamination.
These dual air gaps come with everything you need to replace a single air gap, and fit in the same hole. You can even transfer most decorative style covers that the customer may have on the single air gap (such as Bisque/Brushed Aluminum/Brass etc.) The feedback we have gotten from our own customers after instaling one of these is extremely positive, some going so far as to say it is like they have a new appliance, as it is now cleaning better than ever and there is no longer an objectionable odor coming from the drawer.

This is an excellent and PERMANENT code-compliant solution for cross-draining on older Fisher Paykel Dishdrawers. Try it. You'll like it!

Fisher paykel cross draining

As the drawers share a common outlet to the kitchen sink drain, it is the drain water from bottom drawer going to top drawer. Can happen if the drain hoses are not following the correct specifications for installation. An air gap kit is available to solve the problems.

F1 error on Fisher and Paykel Dish Drawer

Sorry did not see your problem report earlier. If you have checked the sensor under the bottom drawer and it is dry, then F1 is caused by top drawer power filter fault. This means the bottom drawer controller is giving the F1 error but the top drawer controller has no power. Can you confirm this.

DD-603 cycle and draining problems.

check your kitchen drain as it might be blocked or if you have a garbage disposal (kitchen insinkerator) make sure it is cleared before running the dishwasher.

I have fisher&paykel.dishwasher.nautilus, half way through the washing,it beeps non stop and shows me U1 . AND IT DOESNT WORK SO I HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN

Hi,
U1 fault if caused by several things: water supply not turned on (I doubt that), unit is syphoning causing not water in tub to be detected during cycle (this is possible if the drain system in incorrectly installed), spray arm in the drawer is not in place or get moved somehow, excessive foaming (wrong soap or too much), inlet valve failed, controller failed, or rotor not fitted correctly.
I would inspect this issues and locate the reason the unit will not complete the cycle, you may end up replacing the controller in that drawer to fix the problem (as a last resort).
Good Luck

Model 920 shows U1 then leaks then goes to F1

Hi
Error code U1 means that the dishwasher might be taking longer time then required to fill the water and water is not draining properly as something might be blocking the drain pump assembly due to which the water is leaking. To solve this issue you'll have to take the front lower access panel out and then clean the drain pump assembly completely, also clean the impeller and chopper assembly located at the bottom of the unit. Also check the water supply and spray arm. After this is done the issue should be resolved, if not then check the float switch mechanism and make sure that it is fine. Error F1 on your fisher & paykel means an overfill condition. One of the most common causes for an overfill fault is that the dishwasher cannot pump out the dirty water due to a plugged drain hose. Check the drain hose if it is clogged. Now remove the bottom drawer from the unit to inspect the flood switch. Remove the wire harness cover on the underside of the drawer. With the bottom cover off, unclip the wire harness, fill hose, and drain hose. Then unclip the linkage at the back of the drawer and lift the drawer off the slider arms. Now' you'll be able to look at the flood switch. Note the positions of the wires on the flood switch and remove them. Then unclip the switch housing from the base panel. The switch housing contains one switch for each drawer. The switches are wired normally closed (NC) and each switch has three spade connections, so it's important to note where the wires went. Now clean the contacts and let it dry. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

I HAVE A TWIN DRAWER MACHINE ABOUT 5 YEARS OLD THE TOP DRAWER IS WASHING DISHES BUT LEAVING WATER IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRAWER WHICH I AM NOW HAVING TO EMPTY MANUALLY HOW CAN I FIX THIS PROBLEM

Have you tried running the rinse cycle to check if the water drains out?

If you are not getting any fault codes, then it might be simply a matter of cleaning the base filter plate and the sump. The user manual will tell you how to do this.

If that does not help then post a comment along with the model number of your fisher and paykel double drawer unit and I will suggest further diagnostics.

Pull the bottom drawer out !!!!! To do this on the left and right sides of the bottom drawer you need to pull the pins (Plastic) then pull it out it has hoses still connected pull out and turn on side look in the back left corner (with Pwr off) there is a board there and it has a water (Flood sensor) on it make sure it is dry this is what the Fault code is
