If it is a sidekick 3 with a cracked lcd screen it is cheap and easy to replace. A new screen runs about 40 dollars on ebay.

Here is a guide to do that.

replacement of the Sidekick 3 LCD flip screen.

Here is a link of the locd. If you do not have a t6 torx driver a small flat head screwdriver will work or look for a replacement that includes the t6.

Tip

Tips when replacing or repairing the glass screen & digitizer on iPhone 3g &...

These tips are for those of you who have decided to take on the task of replacing your cracked screen on your iPhone 3g or 3gs.

On various videos and sites that explain how to replace the screen and digitizer (the part that recognizes touch) they tend to go a little too fast and skip a few minor details. Here are just a few that may help when taking on this task.

1) When ordering your parts make sure you order the glass screen + digitizer. Some sellers offer the glass by itself but it is just a major headache to separate the two and not worth the few bucks you save.

2) Make sure to be in well lit work space. The brighter the better (you might consider buying one of those magnifying lenses on a stand with a light on it). Get yourself one of those magnetic trays. If you lose one of those tiny screws then you are "screwed" yourself.

3) Save yourself some headache and a new bezel by using a suction cup to lift up the glass screen after removing the sim card holder (I used a paper clip for this) and the 2 screws at the bottom of the phone. Attach the suction cup right above the home button and lift carefully. There are 3 ribbon cables attached inside near the top of the phone.

4) Use some tweezers to handle some of those ribbon cables. It can get frustrating trying to use your fingers to handle those small ribbons in such a tight enclosure. Pay attention to the videos or guides you are using to find out which of ribbon cables connectors you have to flip a tiny latch up to get the cable out and which ones you can just pull out.

5) Keep all protective plastic stickies on the new parts until you are absolutely certain you are ready to install them. Any oils from your skin or dust on either the lcd or the inside of the new screen can greatly diminish the quality of your video and it will always seem like your screen is dirty.

6) I learned this the hard way. In those videos and instructions you find, they use a hair dryer to heat up the glue holding the old screen on the frame. It is much faster to use a heat gun BUT BE CAREFUL....if you heat the glass too much, the HOME button is plastic and WILL WARP. To avoid any headaches just go ahead and order the glass + digitizer assembly as well as the HOME button and ribbon cable assembly.

7) There are a number of tools that you can get much cheaper on your own and probably have laying around the house that can make the job much easier. Some may be a guitar pick, exacto knife set (the one with the various blades), some Deox-it (spell check) to clean metal contacts, some Q tips, rubbing alcohol, glass cleaner, and I also found some nice hard plastic tools, which I believe are called "spudgers" on Stanley Tools website. They basically help you hold cables back and are good for probing and wedging some of the parts open.

I hope these tips help someone that is up to doing this task. It was fun to do and also saved me some cash. Plus you have the joy in feeling that you actually fixed something! Please feel free to share this posting.

My cricket ztex501 android was dropped and now the screen has cracks in it

Just throw the phone really hard and hope it breaks. It itsn't worth repairing. Your phone isn't that new. Its just that bad. Usell.com won't take a brand new one for more than $10 and gazelle won't take it at all. Its not worth the money. Get something else

Htc touch screen not working.

Hi, I had the same problem. Whenever, I touched my screen the wrong things would respond, then finally one day my phone locked & when I tried to unlock it the screen wouldn't respond at all.Took my phone to 3 sprint stores and all the techs couldn't help. One even accused water damage or overheating because they saw spots under my screen. But I never wet my phone so I thought it might be overheating since I do live in a warm climate. They all tried to get me to buy a new phone, which seemed like a scam. I didn't want to hard reset & lose all my data so I looked closer at the screen & noticed the spots didn't look like water spots & peeled the screen back. I noticed that the glue from around the screen actually leaked onto the screen, so I dampened one end of a q-tip & wiped the glue off the dryed it with the other end. I turn the phone back on and the screen worked fine. Try cleaning thr screen before doing a hard reset or paying for a replacement phone. It'll save you time & headache.
Hope this helps =)

Cracked screen tryin to save all contacts to sim for new phone

if you got the same type of phone, then you have to go to the adress book, click options and go to the 13th option. it should be a copy to SIM card option. click it, then go to multiple or selectd, whichever you want. it should copy. PS the # for the copy to SIM option is jst what i have. you might have something different. =)
