The Intex IT-305WC webcam is not listed in the Windows 7 compatibility. The webcam is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista on the manufacturer's website, so you may install the webcam drivers in compatibility mode.
Right click the installation file and select Properties.
Click the Compatibility tab.
Under Compatibility mode, check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: option.
Have you tried installing the webcam drivers? Windows 7 supports a lot of webcams by default, but if it is not working, you can try installing the Logitech drivers. If there is no W7 driver, try using a Vista driver, or even the XP driver and run the setup in XP compatibility mode.
vistas UAC is a pain sometimes. one thing you may want to try is right click on the cd drive and choose "run as administrator" many times windows block even if your are the admin. another is the compatibility mode. try running it in compat for xp.
You can use your CD to insall the drivers for Vista also. Below is the procedure.
Select the Setup file and right click on it - - - - - >Select Properties- - - - - -> There you will find a menu for Compatability. Select it - - - - - - -> Select the Box to run in COMPATIBILITY MODE OF Windows XP (Service Pack 2) - - - - - ->In Privilege Level, select the box for RUN THIS PROGRAMME AS AN ADMINISTRATOR.- - - - - -> Apply - - - - - - -> OK.
Now run the Setup file and you will be able to install the driver for Vista and it will work for sure.
Creative did not create any software for this camera to work with Vista so it only means the camera is not compatible with Vista and wont work without the proper software for it, sorry to say but you need to get a new camera that is compatible with Vista....
Select the install.exe file in the CD root and right click. Select compatibility for XP. Then run the install. I just did it on VISTA business and it works fine. If you want to run NetMeeting, then there is a patch from MicroSoft (3.0.2) that can be downloaded and installed. Both now work on VISTA, SP1. Good luck
My wife has a new computer with Vista on it. I tried to plug in my Creative Webcam Instant into it, thinking there would be no problems. Turns out that Creative doesn't support Vista for a couple of its webcams. I fixed it, though, and now there's no problems. What you have to do is take advantage of a couple of Vista's less-obvious features. Put the Creative CD in. On the CD (not in a folder on the CD), there's a setup.exe. Right-click it and select "Properties". On the "Compatibility" tab, enable the option to run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2. Then also check the "run as administrator" option, just for good measure. After that, it will install just fine (otherwise, the Creative installer tells you that it doesn't support your version of Windows). Then, after it installs, find the program's executable. It should be in the relevant program files folder (if you're not sure, hover over the webcam center shortcut in the start menu, and see where the program is actually located). Do the same thing for the program executable (right-click, compatibility tab, enable compatibility mode for XP SP2, enable running as admin for good measure). If it doesn't work for you after all that, I don't know what to tell you. It works just fine for me now (it didn't want to otherwise).
