Swing out arm on camera

Help! The swing out arm on my camera is sooo loose and it looks like it hanging by a wire or two. Oh, and naturally the camera is not working.

I just fixed mine, it turns out to be pretty easy!

1) Remove 5 case screws: two on either side of the strap, two on either side of the "CAUTION" sticker, and one near the serial number.

2) There's one last screw on the bottom near the mounting/tripod hole. To remove it I had to pry the casing SLIGHTLY away first.

3) Remove the casing.

4) The shutter, flash, and large capacitor are free-floating and can be CAREFULLY pulled back, so you can get to where the swivel mechanism is. You'll see a bundle of wires going through a hole.

5) Surround the hole are 3 screws which are loose. Tighten them up.

6) Put it back together -- done!

The battery would be on the inside of the top round handles. You will need a philips head screwdriver to take them out.500_999_6954_1.jpg

Open camera

Looking at the bottom of the camera, slide the oval latch in the center of the card/battery compartment door toward the back of the camera. Holding the latch there, slide the entire door toward the nearer end of the camera, and the door will swing open.
To remove the memory card, press down on the card and it will pop up a bit. Grasp it between your fingertips and pull it out the rest of the way. (It'll probably be easier if you let the batteries fall out first.)

Lost the battery plug for a mamiya 1000s camera. It is a threaded plug.

Nice camera! Do you mean the battery housing cover plate? It should swing open like a small door when you press the cover latch.

If you are referring to the circular threaded hole on the bottom of the camera body, it is actually the attachment point for a tripod mounting plate. Mounting the camera is optional- no need to have anything screwed in here. Load film, load battery, advance film with the crank arm, and shoot away! Have fun.

I'm looking for a camera to take golf swings. I'm currently using an old ag188u 10,000 fps vhs format. It's time for me to upgrade so I can hand my students a disc that can be played in a computer....

Dear Fixya,

I have still haven't received a model # or Brand of Camera that will be compatible to the DVR player you recommended.

Maybe that's my fault because I wasn't explicit enough.

I need a camera to take golf swing at high speeds and a player to use in the studio.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!

Multiple shot

If the Camera is capable of Multishots then the manual will tell you how. Taking pictures of fast moving object depends on what sort of result you require. If you wish to 'stop' the object with a blurred background then with the camera of P setting simply pan [swing] with the object as it moves and press the shutter when in centre- So with lets say a fast car come from right moving to left[the the other way] point far right ans move with the car as it comes to your centre click but keep moving your swing. But there is no substitute for practice and experiment

Ricoh Caplio R4 Lens

This is an easy fix for a camera shop. Just tell them that your lens is off track, and needs to be aligned. It should cost less than $50.00. If you are really good with electronics, you can attempt it yourself. Just let me know if you need the schematic to the camera. Best regards, Bill

Multi-Swing

By rotating the display, users can use it to view their subject when taking low-angle, high-angle, and a wide range of other shots. When closed, the multi-swing display also ensures carefree portability by protecting both the lens and the LCD screen. The IR-500 is the first Olympus camera to feature a multi-swing display with 360° rotation capability. It is especially useful in Self Portrait Shooting. The multi-swing display's 360° rotation capability makes it easy to shoot self-portraits as well as other people and scenery. Users can view themselves on the LCD screen while shooting, and use the camera's Self Portrait mode to ensure optimum exposures.
