I have a White Model 4400 Embroidery machine which I am trying to install the software into my computer in order to operate. My computer wants an Install Code of which I do not have the original disk packaging with that number on. The machine's serial # is #01331 and W01709-A20* is also on the machine. I purchased this machine in May 2005 and the computer it was installed on crashed. Please help me get the install code to reload the software on my computer. Thank you.

Take off your throat plate and make sure that there is not a piece of your needle still in there, brush it out and oil your machine if it needs it. Now rethread.

Unfortunately, it seems that the company that bought the White brand (SVP) has no interest in creating new drivers for the machine. Is your computer running the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of Windows 7? (Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If you see x64, you have the 64-bit version.)

If you have the 32-bit version, you can try the compatibility mode. With the White USB drive connected to the computer, right click on the installer instead of normally running the installer. Then choose Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Turn on Run program as Compatible with the appropriate OS. Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program itself is running in the compatibility mode by right clicking again and choosing Properties.

A method that will work is to use a computer (virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine) with an older version of Windows installed. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install the XP software that came with the sewing machine in the virtual computer and it will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS.

I do not think that model machine can be slowed down. It does it's own thing so far as speed.

Local computer stores carry Universl power adapters. These spec are very common on off the shelf power adapters.

You have to plug in your usb cable to the same port everytime. It will act like your machine is not there if you plug your cable into any other port.
