Phaser 8200 error message - lamps out

Hi tryit,
i read your replies to other posters and I too get eror message 15.004.45:6354
I guess the lamps are out, I also guess the second number is the number of pages printed so far?
Do you have instructions on how to change the lamps?
My e-mail is: MU2P@aol.com
Thanks!

    Hi Tryit,

thanks for the detailed instructions, I was able to find and remove the old lamps and install new ones today ($6.48 each).

However, I did manage to break a small beige sensor flag, it's on a little 2" x 2" circuit board which is attached to a stainless bar, about 2" x 11". A set of six white wires lead from the PCB to a white connector.

Do you have source for just the white flags, seems they are simply pressed into the black fittings? If not, where can I get a new circuit board?

WHERE ARE THE LAMPS ON THE PRINTER

×

Thanks, everything is working fine now.
I ran a piece of heavy paper halfway into the printer, then pulled it back out. That must have re-set the sensors.
Again, thanks for your help, you saved me a lot of money!

Hi Tryit,
I ordered the part (upper guide assembly) which came in with the flags already broken. They sent a new part and again, it arrived broken.
Yesterday I finally got the third assembly and installed it.
Everything seems to work, the printer printed about 5 pages which were still in its memory, but now it shows "Paper Jam - open front cover to remove paper".
There is no paper anywhere, nothing has jamed. I assume a sensor is being triggeed by mistake, any idea whcih sensor or flag it could be and how to fit it?
Thanks for yoru help!!

First off purchase if you can, Sylvania 150 watt, 130 volt anti vibration halogen lamps. Less then $20 for the pair.
    1. remove both side covers, i screw each in the back and 1 on each inside part of the upper cover.
    2. On the left side remove the registration clutch, gear and black drive belt.
    3. from the front remove the maintenance tray, and the 2 green guides that is slides in on. One torx bolt on each guide and carefully manipulate them out.
    4. Remove the upper stainless steel transport cover, upper front, about 11 inches wide and 3 inches in height, 2 torx bolts.
    5. Be careful in removing the registration transport, it is in the middle front, has black rollers on it, stainless steel also. One torx on the upper right side of the transport and a C clip on the left, sort of hiding against a bearing. Once the torx and clip are removed the transport can be gently slid to the right and out. E CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK the black registration sensor flag...
    6. Remove 2 plugs on the right side about 4 inches back and 3 inches from the bottom of the frame one white plug and maybe a black plug.
7 Back to the front , look inside you will see 2 beige type blocks with torx running into them, remove those 2 torx and slip the heater out. Remove the spring clips holding the lamps in place, remove the old lamps, replace BOTH, clean the contacts on the ends where the new lamps connect and re assemble. Just take your time. Should take an hour or less.

Call 1-800-835-6100 prompt 9 then prompt 3 then prompt 1, and order part number
    351-1106-00.
If you want to verify that is what you need. Go to www.xerox.com, then click on support. In the box type in phaser 8200, when you get to the options click documentation , once there you will see a selection for a parts diagram. It has the machine parts diagrams and part numbers below the diagrams.
That was pretty easy to break wasn't it. I have done it more than once.

Might just be a loose plug, or possibly a very small piece of paper on one of the sensors. YOu may want to try removing that transport again and check for a small piece of paper. CAREFULLY.

What you also want to do is remove the left hand cover and be 100 percent sure your clutch is mounted on the plate that keeps it from twisting on the shaft. That is easy to miss and have the clutch slip.

There are 2 , 150 watt halogen lamps in the drum heater assembly. One or both are burned out.
I can send you instructions on how to replace them. Xerox will want over $250 for an entire heater assembly. You can buy the lamps at Lowes or any place that sells Halogen lamps for around $15 for a set.

Yep. The drum heaters are burnt out.
There are 2,,, 150 watt Halogen lamps that heat the drum.
The way to see if they are working or not is to turn off the lights in the office or room the printer is in. Turn the machine on and look through the fan slots on the right side of the machine. GIve it a minute or two and you should see lamps glowing inside, ( I seriously doubt you will see them comming on).
That is a very common problem, You can purchase those lamps at Lowes, Home Depot or anywhere you can purchase halogen lamps. They cost about 12 dollars for a good pair.
Replace both .. If you want to try and do it yourself. Let me know I will send you directions.
