Just bought a new tv wondering why when you turn the tv off by the remote there is a blue light that stays on. no book came with the tv.

Try using the power and control buttons on the tv itself.

Please try the following:

1. Press "Menu" button
2. Type 4711 service menu code
3. Scroll to shipping conditions
4. Press OK this will factory reset this TV

or if this does not work try:

1. Press "Menu" button
2. Scroll to "Setup"
3. Scroll to "First Time Installation"

both will perform factory reset

I have a new power supply and my light stay solid red on my LG tv. Has anyone experienced this. I ordered the power supply from Sears. Someone please help a brother.

When the tv is turned on the blue light flashes it is not putting on the blue screen

Turn on the TV,press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the remote lights up,press TV button,the light will blink and stay on,enter the code,the light will go off, press the POWER button, the TV should go off, if not, repeat the steps using a different code until you get one that works the TV. ..hope this helps..

hold "SET" untill the red light stays on (the light doesnt turn on at all by just touching it) once the red light stays on, press tv or whatever device you want to program, then put in the code. It took me all day to figure it out.

i lost my book too but got told you can press set button and the on that has tv on it hold them down till the red light stays on then press after the power button on remote and hold down till tele turns of they all have auto scan on them incase there aint a code takes a bit longer but works for me. hope this helps

I can help. I too have an RCR312W remote and it did not work.
I found this code on bobvila.com message board. The code from the RCR311W remote works.


1) turn on unit

2) press and hold componet button on remote (TV, VCR, etc)
until On/Off lights up

3) press and hold On/Off while holding component button. Light will go out. Continue hoding both buttons until light comes back on.

4) release both buttons. On/Off should stay on.

5) Press On/Off repeatedly until unit turns off.

6) Press the Stop key at bottom.

7) light goes off. Remote is programmed!

I had the same problem with my REM340 remote trying to program an older Zenith TV. Here is what I found and it worked pretty quickly.

Turn your TV on.
Press and hold the SET button until the light stays on.
Then press the TV button.
Then press the VOL+ button until your TV turns off.
Once your TV turns off, press the SET button again.

Hopefully you can now turn your TV back on and everything will work. Good luck. I know the frustration.
