Question about Dryers
The drum on my dryer will not turn. I turn the knob and the motor trys to turn the drum but it will not all the time.
I have taken the dryer apart to check the belt. belt it fine. Took drum out checked motor leads had good readings. Turned motor rotor my hand, it turns no problem. Plug up dryer without the belt and turn knob, the motor moves as long as I have the knob turned. As soon as I let go it stops. What do I do next? Is it the start knob?
It could be the motor capacitor. to check, turn on and carefully give the drum a push in the direction of rotation. if the drum picks up speed and goea ok, then the motor capacitor is faulty. cheap part
