Question about SanDisk Sansa m250 MP3 Player

1 Answer

It's telling me to synchronize music that I own (copied from cds)

Maybe this is something easy that I'm just aware of, but I thought the player should have no problem playing the music I uploaded onto my computer from my cds. Out of the 200 songs I've recently put on the player, it's only playing about 40 or so. I think it's only playing ones that I've downloaded (for the most part). Are the files in the wrong format?

Anyway, the problem I get is that when the song changes to one that is unsupported, it tells me to synchronize. So I connected it to the computer and thought I synchronized it through RealPlayer, but it hasn't fixed the problem.

I'm probably a big dummy and maybe it's something simple, but I'm lost and frustrated and really considering scrapping the whole thing for an IPod.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Use Windows Media Player to rip the songs into Mp3 format - make sure you select mp3 in the Rip options. Real Player rips songs from CD into the wrong format.

How to download album in mp3 lemon

You maybe be able to rip (convert then to MP3 format) several tracks at a time and then copy them to your MP3 player.
MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

Wont play songs

If you didnt change the default settings for Windows Media Player, it is set to "copy protect my music", which would cause this error. To change the settings go to Windows Media Player>Tools>Options>Rip Music and uncheck the "copy protect my music" box. You will need to delete the previously transferred music from your device, re-rip them to your PC, then re-transfer them to your device. Best of Luck.

Sansa e260 won't let me download certain music

If you used Windows Media Player to "rip" (copy) the music to your computer. The default settings are to "copy protect my music" if you didnt change this setting, the Sansa will want a "license" to go with it. Resolution, change the setting in Windows Media Player, Tools>Options>Rip Music (uncheck copy protect my music). You can also change the default rip setting to Mp3, as opposed to Windows Media Audio. Then you would have to re-rip the tracks to your PC, as unprotected. Make sure you delete the old tracks from the device, otherwise, it will always give you that error message. Best of Luck.

Cds

Music CDs that are stamped by the factory have a format that Windows does not normally recognize, except thru Media player, or other aware programs. That music format is CDA. You need a CD ripper program to convert the CDA file to something Windows does recognize, like MP3 or WAV, then copy the files to your USB drive. Programs that rip CD music to files are UltraISO, Media Player 10, Nero, etc.. Here's one link to using Media Player to rip your CDs. http://portables.about.com/od/mp3players/ht/howtoripCDWMP10.htm This should get you started. ZT3000 Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
