I went out of town. Turned my PC off & also turned the power strip off. When I turned power strip on & PC on, my HP LaserJet 4L will on turn on & no lights. If their is a fuse I can't find it or understand where it is from a spec. I have also tryed to up plug it and plug back in after PC in already on.
As you see I have little PC tech talent. Help please!! ;o) PJ

The pickup roller most likely needs to cleaned. Normally paper dust causes this condition. Put the printer off and try again. If you still have the same problem then you probably have paper stuck in the printer somewhere, the paper sensor under the printer is broken. This is quite an old printer and spares might be a problem.
The fuses are located on the DC Controller (main bottom board). Getting to the DC Controller Board on a 4L printer is a very significant disassembly. Best left for a pro but if you really want to do it, I have attached below a link to a scanned copy of the service manual. Please keep in mind that the scanned copy is not a nice fresh PDF as most manuals as the 4L was made in 1994 and HP has physically scanned the printed manual for distribution. Just look up the removal and replacement of the DC Controller Board. Once removed, the fuses are glass buss style, readily available at any Radio Shack.
