Either the tub bearing or lower bearing has failed. Replacing either bearing can be expensive and time consuming. Sorry for the not so good news....

If the tub bearing is bad, it is a sign the seal has failed and could start leaking. You can run the machine until the bearings lock up but this may also damage the transmission. Check you owners manual for limited warranty. The transmission may be warranted for 10yrs. Just keep an eye on any water coming from under the machine.

If you decide to repair it and is less than 10ys old, call Sears and ask to purchase a "Smart Agreement" (wait to see if they offer you one first, they should). The fixed price they offer you (around $200.00) will cover parts and labor plus provide you with 1yr unlimited warranty. In your case, a good bargain.

LG Front loading washer is noisy in spin cycle.

K this is a very complex job because it sounds like you may have coins (money) that has fallen between the gap. If this is the case, then the only way is to open up the back panel and look for it. However, I would not recommend doing it as the warranty will be void if you do. Now the stupid thing about this is a service tech will charge if it is coins lol. If it\'s the machine itself then it will be free provided it is still under warranty. Good luck!

I have an Amama NAV5800AW washer machine and about a month ago every time the washer is on spin cycle it makes a VERY loud sound, and lately has been leaking water during the spin. Any thoughts.

Hello,

The noise you are hearing is the main tub bearing. Water has been leaking past the seal and into the bearing causing it to rust. There is no lubrication on the bearing anymore and you are hearing the metal on metal grinding. You are looking at a costly repair of about $350. I hope this helps you out.

Spin cycle at high rpms is an extremely loud roar. This has changed considerably since purchased 2 years ago

This sounds like main tub transmission bearings.

You are right it is the bearing also called a tripple lip seal and there are special tool to do that job if it has a metal outer tub I would not repair it. If it has a plastic outer tub the repair will fix it

Hi, I have a 5yr old Amana Distinctions Super Capacity Plus top load washer, 2spd motor, 3.3 cu ft. I have taken off the front cover to expose the wash tub, because recently when the washer is in a spin...

sounds like a drain pump issue, not able to remove water quick enough before the centrifical force of tub spinning throws it over the top, remove the pump hoses and look for blockages

Brake assembly is failing. If the noise is like a loud roar sound, than its not a good idea to fix this. The labor is going to be high.

Spin cycle

Did it make this noise just when it stopped spinning.  Just for a couple seconds?  If so,  it's only brake noise and not a concern.  If it does this all during spin you probably have a bad tub bearing.  Is it a roaring noise?  This is what the bearing will sound like.
