Question about Creative Labs Zen Touch MP3 Player

My Zen Touch shows continuesly Slow Battery

Thanks for yor reply. I did try to reset it but it show again Low Battery and I have no warranty on my Zen Touch so what should I do?

    Thanks. On point nr.2 :- remove it's drivers and remove USB Roots. Who's driver is to be removed? On device manager of mycomputer I do not see USB Roots. I see 5 USB Root HUB.

    Do you want me to remove this?

    I do not know how to go to premium posting. If you can post it here I will be thanksfull. I see on mycomuter no USB Root. I see Universal Serial Bus Controller as a tree(last item after system devices). And when I expand this tree I see 5 USB Root HUB. So I am bit confused. Sorry for this confusion. So what should I do? This is my office computer.

    On that page I see only comments by me and do not see any one else's comments. I did try the solution suggested by you but some how when I click on that software update a dialog box comes up and ther upgrade button i sgrayed out. It say that "your player is not connected, Please connect your player". This is inspite the fact that player is connected!!! It has happen many a times before. One more thing before I went for firmware upgrade Zen touch was running very fine. Suddenly now is shows "Low Battery". It is damn frustrating. If you want I can accept your solution, but problem seems to be still persisting.

I tried various links and went to various pages on this site, but I do not see any where accept this as solution where my problme is linked to your name!!. Hi barath,

first try that can you can make is
trying a new firmware
follow this procedure exactly for doing that.
1. First of all Plug in the player in the computers USB port.
2. Now Goto device manager(found in hardware properties of my computer) ....remove it's drivers and remove USB Roots (dont worry they'll all reload.. so do it with out any fear)
3. Now Reboot and unplug the player.
4. After windows loads goto add/remove programs and uninstall the windows media player. Select downgrade.
5. And it may ask you to reboot.. If it asks you to reboot do so.
6. Then locate c:\program files\creative and just manually delete the folder you can put it back on if you wish later but it's useless and outdated junk.

Now reboot. Plug the device in and install the firmware.

going to creative.com click support, then downloads then find your mp3 player Zen touch of course and it will give you downloads. the link will take you till this point.
You need to download the latest firmware for it on a windows XP computer then select the 2.XX.XXX firmware download not the other one because it wont work with windows right. If you need any other stuff like a driver or app. they are also under the downloads are where you looked for the Zen Touch

If this works let me know.

IF THIS DOES NOT WORK IT CAN BE THE BATTERY ISSUE.

when it comes time to replace the internal battery that it will be a lot easier than a Zen Sleek

the battery life on this unit is incredible usually.

battery was being sold here. but they have discontinued. but u can try contacting them and request to ship one for you.

this wil fix u easily.

    thanks for your reply.

    if the drive is being shown as connected to the SUB root do remove that. thats it.
    if it shows USB plainly leave it. don't worry.

    I am from chennai. spent my child hood days in mumbai only. but born and did schooling in chennai. lived in mumbai for 1 year after birth.

    NOTE: use proper screw drivers as mentioned in that page.
    if u use any different types then u may end up breaking the unit. the screws will go blunt and cant be un-screwed. be careful.

    why i was telling you to don't forget to accept MY solution was due to two reasons.

    one is
    no other expert has even replied ur comments in the premium link. so there is no point in giving them the earnings credit for replying nothing.

    second is my personal reason
    my balance earnings is 2994 now. with you acceptance of this premium i will reach 3000. which is a milestone achievement for me here. this is my earning from last December 07. and that is why i said you to accept it. its ok. you can leave it and do it earlier if my solution seems ok for you.

Creative zen battery indicator problem


Try to reset it. May be it stuck. On my Creative Zen Vision M I do reset by inserting a paper clip into a small hole near a dock connector. Good luck!

being a end user all you can do from your side is to try a reset and a complete format of the set.

if this is not helping u you will have to send it back to company only.

Won't turn on


Remove battery for at least one minute, then reinstall battery and try again, if mp3 player still won't play replace battery. If the unit still doesn't work then it must be sent to manufacture for repair if still under warranty. If out of warranty it may be cheaper to purchase a new unit.

My creative Zen wont sync.


Hi I have creative zen touch mp3 player.

I dodn't know if this will help your problem but what i did to mine was; I tried to use the audio sync button (function) in the creative organizer which you should install from the installation disc, when you get when you buy the mp3 player.

I wanted to sycn across songs from my computer onto onto the mp3 player but it didn't work.

Then i realised my mp3 player was low on battery so i plugged it into the mains and tried again. That helped but also i kept unplugging and replugging the player until it says 'docking' on the player screen using the usb lead from player into cpu unit and, this i found worked and solved my problem. And now it sycns my songs over to my player now.

My only problem now is that my scroll touch pad isn't working, and hasn't worked for years- as i left it for years cause that was the problem i had in the first place.
