Top load Whirlpool to gain access to control panel

This piece of **** won't come on at all. How do I gain access to the control panel?
some years ago when it was new...we had some problems...I did watch as the man accessed the panel, I seem to remember he used a putty knife to release a lock, but I cannot remember where he put it.
Can you please help?

Thank you for your time.

My Kenmore Calypso washing machine has is

Where the power cord goes into the washer is a small box called a line filter. It is there to protect the electronics in the control. It might be that the line voltage filter has failed. Remove the rear panel on the control to access it. Calypso Service Manual

Whirlpool calypso top load washer stuck on FL

Fl means flood
you either have a bad flood switch or something is in the pump.
the pump is located under the washer
if you where to tip back and remove the 3 5/16 inch screws and look to the very right you will see the pump.
it could be these 2 things and or it could be something in your sump balls. which you would need special tools to gain access to.
let me know if this helps

How do you open the top of a whirlpool calypso

You need to use a putty knife. It should slide under the "controls" and hit a spring latch. Push hard, it's not easy. The latches are on the outsides of the top.

I have a Ce error

This is called a communications error, to access the tech sheet, pop the plastic "calypso" cover. remove the screw behind and lift the top. Sheet is on inside of front panel. Will require meter tests, but usually indicates a bad motor control bd. First try unplugging for a few minutes, cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Whirlpool calypso no control panel lights or function, replaced machine control board four months ago for same problem. Gone bad already?

Yes, this particular brand is notorious for this. the actual control boards were reconfigured to no avail.

Unfortunately, you will need to replace this failed control once more.

I have a calypso whirlpool washer code ce came up and it wont drain

CE is a communication error between the control board on the control panel, and the motor control board. in most cases this is covered under the warranty from whirlpool but in some cases it is not. in any event the motor control board must be replaced.

dont see why not, first t hing to do is find out where its leaking from, the fromt panel will need to come off to watch for leak in order to remove that , pop off the medalion on fron lip of the main top assy. ther should be a screw behind the emblem remove the screrw and the top will slide foward and then tio back. a few screws across the top of front panel will drop that panel down adn from ther you ll gain acces to watch unit work adn see where water is coming from

Calypso fl error

Look along the seam in the front of the washer where the top meets the front panel. About two inches in from each side is a retaining clip. If you take a putty knife and push in on the clip while lifting up on the top, the top of the washer should open up. You may need the assistance of another person and use two putty knives at the same time. It can be a bit tricky sometimes, but the top does open in this manner. Once you have the top open, carefully rest it against the wall behind the washer. There will be a screw holding the front panel on at each top corner. Once you remove the screws, the front panel should come off exposing all the internal components of the washer. You can also remove the back panel for additional access. I hope this helps you.
