Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Sounds like you have a lid switch problem. The machine thinks the lid is open and it is designed not to run with an open lid. Depending on the styl of whirpool washer you have there is two ways to fix it. First raise the lid of your washer. Do you see a pin on the underside of the lid and a hole in the top of the machine it would fit into? If you don't, try tightening the 4 phillips screws on the hinges on either side of the lid. If they get loose the hinge wont strike the lid switch. If you do see the pin and the hole I mentioned, you likely will actually have to replace your lid switch. If you have this style, send me back your model number and I will type you up a step by step replacement of it.
