If the panel remains inoperable to control the buttons, you can just use the air conditioner remote to operate the air conditioner. The unit will still read the remote settings and allow you to operate it without a new panel or temperature sensor. The error code will still appear, but the air conditioner will function normally.
Possible that the vent or the vane is blocked which can also be due to a jammed motor in the auto oscillation vent. Remove the panle and check the free movement which will confirm this case. Sometimes it could be dirt that is logged in that prevents free movement.
Other forums say the E1 code is because the AC thinks a button is stuck
or because it's dirty, but almost all of them say to use the remote and
it'll work ok.
If you have the remote, that should still work..if you need to reset it.
If you do not have the remote, believe it or not, some VCR/DVD remotes
will work the system. The remote is a 'One For All' URC-3021B00
The buttons are as follows:
pause= timer on/off
mcdevito75 here, I belive your mom is right, temperature and Fan?? must be set manually, Fan speed I,m not to sure about. Contact Haier online, www.Haier Air Conditioner.com or see any A/C shop in your area.
go here: http://www.partlinx.com/haier.asp andsearch for the part. You have to start with your state, and then gofrom there. For my area, the remote is 19.99, plus shipping and tax.Also, try eBay. You can find a lot of things there!
try turning it off holding buttons each individually in for 3 secs then in an hour plug back in ... the rep from Haier gave me this advice ... just waiting my hour now ... i also hear that the remote works for sure ...
