How to change fonts in Windows Notepad

Windows Notepad is a fairly basic text editor. It doesn't offer a lot in the way of extra features, but one thing it does have is the ability to use different fonts.

By default, Notepad uses the Lucida Console font. However, you can change both the font and the text size, as well as use bold and italic styles. The only drawback is that the whole document must use the same settings, so if you change the font, it will apply to all of the text; you can't have only one word appear in bold, for example.

To change the font in Notepad, open an existing text file or create a new one by clicking on the Notepad link on the Start menu (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad). On the menu bar, click Format, and from the drop down menu, select Font.

On the left side of the Font window is a list of all of the fonts you can choose from. To see what a font will look like, click on it. The text in the sample box will change to reflect that font, giving you an idea of what the capital and lowercase letters will look like.

You can also change the text style by selecting Italic, Bold, or Bold Italic. (Unfortunately, you can't underline in Notepad.) The text size can be changed by selecting a number from the list under the Size heading, or you can type in a value in the field above the list. To change the script (in order to use the lettering or symbols of another language) select one of the scripts from the Script list at the bottom of the window.

Once you've made your selections, click OK to apply them. If you just want to exit out of the Font window without making changes, click Cancel.

How to remove PDF Password Securty ?

PDF is really a good thing for reading and sharing as it has great reliability.Almost any one on any computer system can view PDF with PDF Reader.

However,due to the copy-right or data protected,when creating PDF,we may put password to prevent from editing,copying and so on. But sometimes,there may be reasons to unlock or crack PDF password.We do have the legal right to use the password protected PDF document,but have unfortunately forgotten the password.

What is PDF password?

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of password provided by Acrobat PDF standard security. "user password " and "owner password ".

"User password" is also called "open password ", it is the password defined by the people who create the PDF file, and it is used for protecting the PDF files from opening by others. Only people who enter the password can open the protected PDF files.

"Owner password " is the password that set to protect the PDF files from changing by others. With an "owner password", the owner can protect the PDF files from printing, editing or selecting text and graphics.

How to remove PDF securty?

There can be lots of situations where you would want to use a password protected file! So how can you unlock secured PDF files ? In this article I will show you how to unlock secured PDF files to edit,copy or print.

You need a PDF password remover. Or Adobe Acrobat is the best if you want to pay lost of money and lost of time.I strongly recomment this alternative: Advanced PDF Password Remover.

You need to downlod the program launch PDF password remover and then add file to begin.When finished it will show you the files securty password has been removed,then you can edit or copy,print etc.

A document I am working on somehow got changed to rich text format, I don't know how this happened or how to change it back.

If you have Microsoft word on you computer, you may do any one of these steps that you are most comfortable with. First, you may click the document twice to rename it eg "name.doc" insure that you put .doc at the end or you may right click the file and choose open with and select Microsoft word and then go to save as and save it as a word document. Or you can open the file in word-pad and copy the text and paste it in a word document and save it. Rich text format is a Microsoft word-pad document while .doc is a MS word document or now they have .docx.

hope this help you have a great day!

Build your own Internet Search Connector Windows 7 has a very useful new feature...

Build your own Internet Search Connector
Windows 7 has a very useful new feature called a Search Connectorthat lets you search through a Web site from right inside WindowsExplorer. With it, you type in a search term and select the SearchConnector for the site you want to search; Explorer searches the Website without having to open Internet Explorer, and the results appearinside Windows Explorer. Click any of the results to head there usingyour default Web browser.

Normally, you'll need to get each Search Connector from the Web sitethrough which you want to search, and very few Connectors areavailable. Sites normally need to adhere to OpenSearch standards in order for their Connectors to work.

However, there's a work-around that will let you easily build yourown Search Connector for any site, using Windows Live Search as a kindof go-between. Don't worry, you don't need to know any code to write aConnector. Just follow these steps:

1. Copy the following text and paste it into Notepad. The text you'll need to change is in bold, all-caps text:

<OpenSearchDescriptionxmlns="http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearch/1.1/"xmlns:ms-ose="http://schemas.microsoft.com/opensearchext/2009/">
<ShortName>NAME YOUR SEARCH</ShortName>

DESCRIPTION OF SEARCH

</OpenSearchDescription>

2. In place of NAME YOUR SEARCH, type in the name of the search as you want it to appear. In our case, we're going to build a Search Connector for Computerworld, so we'll just type in Computerworld.

3. In place of DESCRIPTION OF SEARCH, type in a longer description of the search. In our instance, it will be Search through Computerworld.

4. In the two SITENAME.COM entries, enter the Web site's domain. Don't use the http:// or www -- just the domain name. In our instance it will be computerworld.com.

5. To the right of "count=", type in the number or results you want to appear. In our instance, we'll keep it at 50.

6. In our example, here's what the code should look like (no bold necessary):

<OpenSearchDescriptionxmlns="http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearch/1.1/"xmlns:ms-ose="http://schemas.microsoft.com/opensearchext/2009/">
<ShortName>Computerworld</ShortName>

Search through Computerworld

</OpenSearchDescription>
Adding a new Search Connector.

7. Save the file in Notepad, choose UTF-8 from the Encodingdrop-down box near the bottom of the Save As screen, and give it an.osdx extension. In our instance, we'll call the fileComputerworld.osdx.

8. In Windows Explorer, right-click the .osdx file and select Create Search Connector. The Search Connector will be created.

9. You can now use the Search Connector. To get to it, in Windows Explorer go to YourName --> Searches --> Connector, where YourName is your account name, and Connector is the name of the Connector.
