Question about Daewoo 17N5 17 in.CRT Conventional Monitor

Open Question

Lower portion not displaying.

So, I have a 17 in. Daewoo Flat CRT montior. It was working fine until yesterday but then, the lower portion stays black and the image that was to be displayed there is reverted and superimposed over the higher portions thus resulting in reversed taskbar and small indistinguishable images with the lowermost portion staying black. Usually, I used to turn the power off and on and it would flip back to normal but its not working anymore. Any solutions or advices? I would be grateful if there was any.

SOURCE: I'm trying to service a Daewoo Monitor f227b

The slot with the K on it is a Kensington lock, it is an anti theft lock and does not affect the disassembly. Most monitors can be carefully prised apart as they are only clipped together.

I have a 15 inch BenQ FP731 monitor and its been working all fine for the past year, until yesterday. I have an Acer laptop hooked up to the monitor as its screen was wrecked so I just kept the display on...

This because your ACER laptop having higher resolution than your monitor. Please lower your ACER laptop resolution as low as possible then try again.

Monitor fine with 1 PC, no RGB input after windows load on other?

Lower the resolution on the computer to 800 x 600 and then hook up that monitor see if it at least accepts that and doesn't go black. You may have to go into safe mode to do it plus then go back into regular mode.

Monitor keep going to black screen while viewing.

Disable the Screen Saver in the Display Properties from Control Panel of your Computer.

A Black ScreenSaver is active in your Display Settings. Change it to "NONE" and your problem will be solved.

I have a ViewSonic VE910b 19" That the display stays black

What your both experiencing is a slow degradation of the inside light bulbs. Just like what happens to regular fluorescent bulbs, they slowly flicker out.

Best to buy a new monitor.

Take apart your old one, you'll find burnt out bullbs on the upper and lower chassis deep inside.
