Have a PNY Optima 2 gb sd card that was in a nikon camera that seems to be corrupted. Have used a couple of recovery programs but they were of no help. My computer doesn't even sense that it is in the sd slot. I have tried other sd cards just to test my computer and they are picked OK. Any help would be appreciated.

take out memory card from camera, and connect memory card to computer using a card reader, then use this picture recovery software. You can see http://www.asoftech.com/recover/ It tells the steps how to perform camera photo recovery.
If above does not work, you may have to format the memory card (use quick format), and then use above mentioned software to scan again the memory card and recover your files.
The card appears to be corrupted. This has happened because the card either has failed or it has been extracted while it was still accessed.
Try to access the data and diagnose the card using these 2 programs:
- this one http://findandmount.com/ - will access the card and make it visible. If the card can't be made visible then the corruption is too high, the only thing you can do is to format it. If even the format fails then the card is dead, junk it.
- if the card can be accessed but the files appear to be corrupted use this

to recover what you still can.
Most likely i.m.o. your 4Gb card is a SDHC card. Only a few 4 Gb cards are made as SD in the beginning after they crossed the 2 Gb line. You can't buy them anymore. So to use a 4 Gb ore more, you need a SDHC or better a SDXC reader.
I had same problem. Neither computer nor printer would recognize the SDcard. I took the card to Walgreen's and the card was read just fine. I suspect that we are running XP and do not have the right driver; but I can't seem to find the right driver. Morgen
