Question about Panasonic SA-XR25 Receiver

1 Answer

Panasonic Receiver SA-XR25

I have a problem with the audio. I have component cable connections, as well as optical audio connection.

The sound will be fine for a day or so then suddenly starts popping, cracking, etc. Once the receiver is turned off/on the problem goes away. This happens intermittently although sometimes it happens several times in a period of hours, ie. when listening to the radio. The receiver is about 3 or 4 yrs old.

Any suggestions?

I thought it might be heat related, so I put a small battery operated fan behind the receiver, and voila, no more clicking. I just have to invest in rechargable batteries or an electric fan.

The sound is distorted and overwhelmed by static

Depends what the real problem is.

Is it related to certain sources only - try new or reseated cables, swap it to a different input; single channel - swap to isolate; or certain controls that have become noisy? A shop might be able to get some tuner cleaner into them.
