Question about Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 DVD Player

1 Answer

CH-DVD 300 Freezes Then Skips Ahead

When I play DVDs, my CH-DVD 300 player freezes, then skips ahead to the next chapter or two.
It only does this with DVDs. Music CDs play fine.
And my DVDs are brand new. There are no scratches.
I have cleaned the lense. It continues to do this.
Any advice?

May be either a dirty or bad Optical pickup in the unit---if not dirty usually better to replace the entire unit. Buy a new player.

My dvd player pauses while playing and then skips ahead to a different chapter. What can I do to fix it if anything?

This player may need cleaning and it may be overheating with age. Try cleaning out the unit and the laser head. Use cotton swabs to clean the laser head with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and using the swabs to clean the drive carriage and drive rails.Check for loose belts and gears try cleaning them off to remove dust and debris.you may want to apply a very small amount of lithium grease on the rails and gears to insure smooth movement. Do not use to much or you will cause more problems with the carriage being too lubed and moving too much. also try putting a fan on the unit passing air through the vents or moving the player to a area with good air circulation. If this does not help you may need to have the unit tested out for problems with the laser drive circuits and the carriage. Hope this helps you with your problem.

ILO Recorder DVD05R - Playback jumps 10min, 20 min and more...

Does the disc still play in other dvd player? My ILO has always been picky to play rentals so I just have a cheap COBY player hooked up to front inputs of my ILO. I use it to watch the dvds, only use the Ilo to record. Saves wear and tear on my ILO but cannot find a universal remote to operate them both and my tv. If it still records okay thats what I would do, just watch the discs in a secondary unit. Sounds like time to start shopping for new recorder.
