What is the maxium hard drive will my k8v-x support

You have to limiting factors when determining max HDD size. 1) IDE or SATA interfaces. 2. 32 bit or 64bit Operatings System. With a 32 bit OS you are limited to 2TB per drive. Although I think 500GB is the largest IDE drive you can get.

HDD size is driven by the BIOS and Operating System you're running, not the motherboard itself.

What size of sata hdd i can connect to mb mercury pi945gcm????

you can connect any size SATA HDD to your system. Depending upon the OS and drivers you may have to create logical drives to handle the capacity. If you decide on a large capacity HDD such as a 1TB drive, backup becomes an issue. You may want to keep your working drives to a manageable size and attach a backup hight capacity drive for backup.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

Msi k8mm-v board not detecting SATA 320 GB HDD

peets, is this drive a slave drive? if so, make sure you have the jumper ******** the hdd set for "slave" , the instructions that came with it and on top of the hdd itself shows you where that is. You should have it set up for this anyways so you can format it to your liking(i.e. if your going to partition it out or use the whole 320GB for your data). after doing this you will need to go to you bios screen when you boot up your computer(setup). Go to standard or advanced bios settings and see if the new hdd is there, your bios should recognize it, if not, make sure you write down all the info for your hdd (size, cylinders, heads, type) and input the info for a correct installation and when you are finished, make sure you save the info (F10) and (Y) computer will restart and it should see the new hdd. Also, I take it you have CD/DVD driveconnected to your primary SATA or IDE port, this should not be a problem, if so send a msg back.

MY msi 7082 cant read HDD 40GB and above whY>?

Your board specifications are here - http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=661FM3-L&class=mb

This sounds like a memory timing issue based on the caution from the MSI page. There is no reason the board itself should have a problem with that size hard drive. Have you reset the bios to factory default and tried the various compatibility settings available in the bios?

K8V-MX motherboard+HDD size limit

yes the mother board supports SATA However if you connect large Disks to the SATA connectors they are recognized correctly with full size. So leave your 500g and less HDs on the IDE and the big ones on the SATA. you can check this link for the manual for more information ftp://ftp.chiligreen.com/Desktop/Manuals/manual_a_k8v-mx.pdf hope this helps .thanks and Godbless pls appreciate by rating as fixyaa

MAX HDD CAPACITY ADDRESSABLE

Hi john,
The issue what operating system are you running? Not your board).
Windows 98 can see a max of 64GB & windows 98SE, 137GB. Win XP can see a max of 2 exobytes.
(What is 1exobyte, EB. In decimal terms, an exabyte is a billion gigabytes).

Your 160BG drive is safe with XP.
