Hi
you can get a user manual that has details on how to clean your machine. If following the step by step instructions does not solve the issues, its time to a serious overhaul. Out with the screwdrivers, and alot of cleaning basically.
I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, please get back to me here, or use the ASK function to go straight to me :) If you are still unsure, have problems, or we need to look at the situation more deeply, then before you give a rating for this advice, hit the ASK button Thanks for using FixYa, If you consider the advice I have given you as sound, a FixYa rating is a great reward for my efforts to help you. Braun 7505 switch won't slide down to off position. battery has to run down to stop. What can I do?

Guest solution (2008) to Pry out the blue button worked great for me. Not sure what the semi-circular shapes under the button were for but the switch works fine now. The only down side was that prying the button off broke the tab holding it, but this is no big deal. Saved me the cost of a new razor and I like the Braun 7505 model because it works great and is smaller than some of the newer models.

Braun Pulsonic model 9595. Trimmer will not close properly. Can I repair this myself?

The trimmer is replaceable and can be purchased as an assembly http://buyitnow64.stores.yahoo.net/brshrese7pul.html You will T-6 and T-8 torx drivers to take apart the head end of the shaver. Using these tools, remove the swiveling head, the hold down cover over the motor assembly, and then pop off the drive arm for the trimmer. Now the broken trimmer assembly can be slid out of the end of the shaver by carefully prying between the case where the on/off button is located and the black trimmer assembly base with a small flat blade jeweler's screwdriver. The new trimmer assembly can then be slid into the case and the shaver reassembled. Just be sure the ends of the retraction spring on the new trimmer assembly are installed over the little chrome retaining lugs for them or your trimmer will not fully retract (my trimmer assembly arrived with the spring ends loose and not retained by the lugs).

Braun shaver 7505 trimming blade slide will only move between position 3 (trimming) part way to 2. It will not go to 2 or 1(off). This happened suddenly. Shaver operates with cord, but must be unplugged to...

The trimmer and on/off switch are part of the same mechanism. The problem is that the switch apparatus is broken and preventing the trimmer from sliding up. You can't repair it without replacing it.
This is a hard part to find for your model and I don't know where to direct you to purchase one.
I have another suggestion which will be a good remedy especially if your shaver has original batteries and is over 3 or 4 years old. This suggestion is to replace the whole 'lower unit'. This would be the entire handle portion of the shaver. You can upgrade to a nicer model at the same time. Take a look at this compatible lower unit at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

Braun Syncro 7505 Shaver, Need Power Cord.

If you just need a eplacement cord, you can get one at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-charger-cord-for-7000-syncro-8000-activator-360-complete-p-120.html

If you need batteries or PC board, this will raise the price considerably and you may find a less expensive option of buying a replacement. You will also find similar replacement units at shaveroutlet.com

Trimmer not retracting back into shaver all the way

Hi Sorry I don't have the answer but this must be a common problem as my braun has the trimmer sticking out at 45 degrees when closed. The head lock went 2 weeks before the trimmer wouldn't retract so it looks like a design problem

TRIMMER STAYS IN OPEN POSITION

I had this problem, and it was due to the breakage of a plastic part.  If you slide the trimmer open you can see a piece of spring wire beyond the end of the word 'trimmer'.  The broken piece should locate the end of this spring; if it fails then the spring no longer forces the trimmer blade fully shut.  As the trimmer was opened and closed I could see that the spring did not stay symmetrically placed.  I could also see one end of the spring inside the mechanism, rubbing on the surface under the slider - but not the other.
To help with the instructions, let me identify some parts: "A" is the sliding part that your thumb pushes to open the trimmer; it carries the word 'trimmer'.  "B" is the hinged part that carries the trimmer blade itself and the word 'washable'.  "C" is the flexible piece of black plastic that connects A to B and on which the central section of the spring pushes.
To fix, first remove the sliding section A: slide the trimmer open and push a thin screwdriver down one edge of the slider.  Prise the lugs that hold A in place, away from their slots. Disconnect the connector C from the blade part B (gently push the lugs outwards, one at a time). Turn over the slider A and you should be able to see that one or both lugs that are intended to keep the ends of the spring in place, have broken.  (They are on a silver moulding fixed to the underside of slider A).  I fixed both ends in place with some two-part epoxy - be careful not to get glue on the other parts!  Allow to dry completely and reassemble.

Braun shaver 7505.

Greetings,

Need to replace the switch. If you have the skills to disassemble the unit, proceed. Otherwise replacing the shaver will cost you less than having it repaired.

Braun 7526 shaver switch

Managed to fix it - actually was a 7680. Only do this if you:

1. have a small screwdriver set

2. are handy putting little delicate plastic pieces and springs together again

3. are prepared to face the possibility that you might break the shaver entirely

4. you are out of warranty so you don't care if you invalidate it

THE PROBLEM is caused by a small flat metal assembly that acts as a spring to hold the blue button in place. That is held by 4 small glue posts. The glue breaks down, the flat spring falls out of place and the blue button is no long in the right place.

TO OPEN UP THE SHAVER

a. gently remove the plastic cover around the electrical socket underneath, using a small flathead screwdriver to pry it open

b. the two metallic sides of the shaver can be pulled away starting at the bottom of the shaver

c. uncrew the four screws on the underside of the shaver

d. remove cutter block, battery/lcd block (make sure you don't lose the grommet around the lcd display

e. pull the spring and little plastic latch off the underside of the switch, make sure you remember how to put it back (took me almost 20 mins to figure out how to get that back afterwards)

f. slide the switch all the way up and pull it off the slide - you might need a little gentle force and a flathead screwdriver to coax it off - be careful you don't break anything here

g. remove the trimmer from the rest of the switch

h. put the blue piece back in place (mine had fallen out), then glue the flat metal spring back in place. I smeared brush-on crazy glue on the flat surfaces to hold it in place, I would imagine a four drops of reasonably strong glue on each of the glue posts would work best. Wait for the glue to dry and achieve strength.

i. slide the trimmer back into place, then the plastic latch and spring - this is the tricky part. Make sure the switch can slide on/off in all positions properly.

j. put the display/battery & cutter block back in place. put the back of the shaver on, hold the shaver together with your fingers and test the switch works in all positions without jamming. If so put the four screws back, followed by the metallic sides followed by the plastic cover of the electrical socket.

GOOD LUCK!!
