Question about Zanussi Washing Machines
Not a big job but you may need an extra pair of hands as one part is awkward.
remove plastic clip that holds seal to cabinet - i prise clip of with a screwdriver. unpeel seal from cabinet and fold it inside the drum.
the seal is held onto tub with a large circular spring. push bottom of seal down and pull out and seal will come off together with spring.
now comes the awkward bit
lubricate the groove that fits onto the tub with washing up fluid all round. starting at top, push groove onto lip of tub. with thumbs, work all the way round in opposite directions with each hand until seal is completely located on lip of tub. this is quite hard to do so you may have to try several time but don't despair. fold the seal into the drum to make the next bit easier
next the spring has to be located which is where a second pair of hands will be helpful
start the spring at the top into the external groove of the seal and just work round till the spring slips into the groove. its harder than it sounds and four hands makes it a lot easier.
slip the seal onto the cabinet (easy bit) and fit the plastic clip
test for leaks using the rinse cycle (water level is higher)
this job used to take me under 5 mins and it is a real knack but is not really that hard. you can do it! the trick is always lubricate with washing up fluid
go for it
