Have you try to reset the unit..?

reset the unit by removing it from the cradle and using a straightened paper clip in the reset hole on the unit's bottom (just behind the release button).

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The Safety settings are located in the Settings or Preferences menu.
If you get a message Safety lock enabled, the option Show essential menu buttons while driving is selected in the Safety settings.

Safety lock enabled how do I unlock this

The following are the steps (for TomTom One):
- You can only change the Safety options when you are not moving/the car is static. - Tap on screen to bring up 'Change preferences' -> Safety preferences -> Uncheck all options but more specifically 'Hide most menu options while driving' .
Hope it helps: let me know of the results.
