Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

TV PICTURE ISSUE

I have an older Mitsubishi 52" HD 1080. I recently upgraded my cable box to DirecTV HDTV. When I change to format to view in 1080 the TV goes from full screen to what seems to be wide screen with a black bar on the top and bottom. If I change the format to 480p I get a full screen; but the picture has a "redish tint" over it as if looking through sunglasses...I tried everything in my TV manual even call the cable company. Any suggestions?

Using your cable remote or satellite tv remote as well as the one that came with the television itself. Press the hd zoom # button on the cable remote. Satellite tv remotes will have format or aspect. For satellite tv receivers you may have to go into the menu on the satellite tv box to adjust the picture format i.e. 1080i crop and etc.

Make sure you have the television on the right input for hd and that the cable box or satellite receiver is displaying 1080 i.

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

I have a 4 year old Mitsubishi WD-57831. Lately, when connected to my cable DVR via a HDMI, the picture flashes on and off and some stations don't come in at all. I changed the cable box 4 times, changed...

I have run into this issue alot. I believe its because of a older version of HDMI 1.1. Quick solution is to hookup the cable box with component cables(yprpb) to utilize the HD picture still and then do some research to see if Mitsubishi has a firmware update on your particular model.

Make it sure that you have a 1080 signal from your source(eg. HD receiver, bluray player etc.). Try pressing format button on the remote until you get full picture . Or try changing the format or aspect ration in your satellite or cable box.

What is the optimal cable type to connect the Samsung UN55B8500 to a DirecTV HD tuner? Are there specific TV settings to use for this cable type

The best cable hook up to use is the just the one HDMI cable. Just hook it up from box to TV and change the input selection on your TV to HDMI. Then on the Directv Box, change the resolution to 1080 for the best image.

Hey, why does my tv only display in 480i when it has 1080 capability? Or is 1080 just part of this tv's name?

You have to use the Red, Grn, and Blue component input to utilize 1080i. ( also the red &wht for the audio input) I hope you are using a HD cable box or satellite because that's the only way you will get it. They have the component outputs you need.

Phillips hdtv

if the cable box is sending in 1080 signal the tv will not be able to format to a 480 (you can switch to either/or)
the problem you have is if your not sending 1080 to the tv your not really watching HD but you cant strech the 4:3 (non HD channels) to the 16:9
the only thing you can do is run analog signal and a digital signal then switch between the two sorces for your HD and non HD programs
