Take the fuse out of #115 that will take you out of diagnostic mode. When you put it in reverse and it doesn't move then see what code comes up on the dash and follow up with me.

Gear shifter is in Park, but dash reads it's in Reverse. Car won't turn over because it is in Reverse now.

You have to locate where the park ignition switch is located. Some are on the transmission and some are in the column under the dash. It probably got moved.

Toyota Belta Gear not shifting from D to P

Cant start because not in park or neutral. Shifter linkage is messed up. Either cable is moving along with housing or a linkage hard bar came out of its position. Get someone to move shifter and someone under car looking for what is wrong.

The first thing to do is check the brake lights, it they are not working the park lock system will not release the shifter.

try disconnecting cable to transmission turn the shifter on transmission manually down there connect cable again start car try it if not try it again turn once then connect cable again then try it if not the transmission is not good

I left my doors open two long and the battery died so I got a jump and it started and ran for 20 mins and shut off and would not start again on the dash say stability disable and I can't see how to put it...

need to let the battery charge up with motor running and nothing on. park is first then revers then nuetral and then drive. put shifter al the way to park and then feel each gear click as it goes in.

03 explorer indicates wrong gear

if the shifter is still firm in its location, the neutral safety switch is located on the left side of the transmission. you can loosen it and relalign it to read the correct gear.
