Convection oven shuts off after a minute when trying to bake. Does this during Compubake also.. Does not preheat

Possibly a bad oven temp sensor. If the uinit doesnt read a temperature it will shut down to prevent a fire or over heating. The temp sensor is a thermister A temperature variable resistor that changes value as the temp changes. so If the main board doesnt get a response within a vertain resistance range it shuts things down. Sometimes since those parts are in the actual cooking area and subject to the heat and steam from cooking they can rust and break, or just get old and break. Or slam the door and break, you get the idea!!

Oven pre heats then beeps with "F 2"

Hello,If this has a controller that runs a microwave and an oven, then the problem F2 means a temperature related fault such as a bad temp sensor / thermostat or a defect in the control board.

If it's just a microwave, then the problem is likely a failing keypad. In many cases, those can be replaced economically.

Thanks

Oven does not reach set temp

What are using to measure temp ? Are you using a grocery store bi-metal or professional thermal probe ? and further to that, how long are you waiting to check temp. after range "beeps" or announces preheat complete ? The bi-metal type thermometers do take several minutes longer to reach actual temp as opposed to the ranges temp. probe. Does this unit have the "hidden" bake element ? That sounds like a huge temp difference. These units do require an additional 10mins of wait time after announcing ("BEEP") the preheat is complete (check your manual, it should confirm this) Elements don't go "bad" it either comes on (amp draw) or it doesn't.

hope this helps.

good luck

Jenn-air dbl oven WW30430B. Lower oven doesn't work anymore. Try to pre-heat - get F2 message. This started a year ago. Shortly after onset we had a hurricane and were without power for 2 days. When power...

HI. the oven control will interrupt normal actions if it senses an abnormal oven temperature. this can be caused by a faulty RTD(temp sensor), and, also, a faulty relay board if present.

Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness to make sure it is in good condition.

Takes 20 minutes to preheat.

The unit seems to be working ok....usually the temp probe will reach temp in 5 minutes and it will beep....i sugg for cust to let sit for 15-20 mins for precise cooking.

Ge gas oven/ranger xl44

The F2 is the code for the board seeing a temp higher than 600 degrees. It could be one of two things. The temp sensor is out of range, extreme high resistance. If you ohm it out it should read approx 1100 ohms at room temp. The other would be a welded bake relay on the board itself. Check the temp sensor first. If you are getting the F2 in the cleaning cycle, check the temp sensor, welded clean cycle contacts on the board or both contacts on the lock switch are closed at the same time. This is for the model posted JGBP90.

Preheat taking long time

If your oven has the hidden bake element then it is probably working properly. A standard oven with an exposed bake element will usually take about 12-15 minutes to preheat. The hidden element models take a little longer but they usually heat a little more evenly.
