SOURCE: somebody was using my canon powershot g9 and when ...

Camera likely has a common short that comes up on the G9 camera. You just need to get the camera serviced and you'll be back in business again. The site that specializes in service for the powershots is: camerasandparts.com They're amazing if you need help with one of these, that's all they deal with. The good thing with them is they do the correction so that common short never comes back again on the G9. Good luck, that's the place if you need help with a powershot model, they're excellent when it comes to service for these.

SOURCE: My Canon Powershot G9 suddenly

This is a really common problem on the G7 and the G9. They get no power all of a sudden when two screws from inside the camera get loose and cause a short. It's not a cleaning as was suggested, your camera actually needs to be repaired. There's a great shop that only specializes in service for the the Canon Powershot cameras and they have this exact fix on their site. They charge $89 for everything. That takes care of parts, labor, the services for the G9, return shipping and they give you a pretty good warranty on the whole camera once it's been serviced. The cool thing with them is they do the correction to the two screws inside the G7's and the G9's that causes this no power problem. Here is the site where you can have it serviced: www.camerasandparts.com Everything comes out to $89 and they are awesome for service on the Canon Powershots. I hope this helps, all the best with it.

Our G9 is stuck with the lens zoomed out. If we turn it on or turn it off, no change, stuck.

Go with this place: www.camerasandparts.com They charge $89 for the lens error service package on the G9 and they do excellent work. The neat thing with them is they don't just do the repair, they service the camera up as well, plus shipping going back is included in their service package too which is nice. Much more affordable than Canon and they are experts on the Powershots, the Canons are all they specialize in! I hope that helps you with getting it going again.

You can go to the website: www.camerasandparts.com and get their email address. They can help you for sure. They only service canon cameras and they are wonderful for help with the canons. Pretty much the place for help with a broken powershot and they charge about half of what canon does. The work with them is superb.

How can i fix my camera?

The very common problem on the G9 (also the Canon G7) is they develop a no power problem from some screws getting lose inside of the camera. There's a site that can help and is extremely familiar with this problem. Try this site: www.camerasandparts.com All they work on are Canon Powershoits and the work they do is fabulous and all for about half the price of most places. The thing that's great with them is they include the service for the camera at the time of the no power repair and they do the correction for no power on all G9's to prevent the no power problem from reoccurring. Hope that helps, they're fantastic if you need help with one of these cameras. So you know, it's only $89 with them for everything. Hope that helps.
