A list of assets for a Will does or does not contain liquid investments and insurance ?

Definition of 'Liquid Asset'
An asset that can be converted into cash quickly and with minimal impact to the price received. Liquid assets are generally regarded in the same light as cash because their prices are relatively stable when they are sold on the open market. icon_inv.png Investopedia explains 'Liquid Asset'
For an asset to be liquid it needs an esta-blished market with enough participants to absorb the selling without materially impacting the price of the asset. There also needs to be a relative ease in the transfer of ownership and the movement of the asset. Liquid assets include most stocks, money market instru-ments and government bonds. The foreign exchange market is deemed to be the most liquid market in the world because trillions of dollars exchange hands each day, making it impossible for any one individual to influence the exchange rate.

ANOTHER WEBSITE POSTS: Liquid assets are cash on hand or any tangible or intangible item that can be converted quickly and easily into cash, typically within 20 days, without losing much of their value. These assetsare among the most basic types of financial resources used by consumers, businesses, and investors. Cash and checking accounts are the two most obvious forms of liquid assets.

Turntable stopped turning

This is quite a common problem and often associated with a recent spill (boiling over) of liquid in the microwave. Liquid overflows the glass dish, onto the floor of the microwave and down the hole where the drive motor that turns the plate is located. Liquid runs down the shaft of the motor and into the drive motor which then stops it functioning. Because the drive motors on most microwaves are induction motors, and not driven by a traditional armature with brushes, about 75% of the time you can fix this by drying the motor out (Though this depends on the liquid spilled).
You will have to get into the underside of the microwave, often this means snipping a bit of the casing directly under the drive motor (Which is of course directly beneath the drive shaft that pokes up beneath the glass plate).
Once you gain access, you will see the motor clearly and it is usually held in place by 2, 3 or 4 screws, unscrew from mountings, unplug the power wires (They usually have a couple of wires from the motor with a little plug on the end that you can pull out).
Give the motor a good shake to remove any liquid and then go put it on top of your boiler, in your airing cupboard, out in the warm sun or even (If you trust yourself not to cook it!) in your oven on a very very low heat. Leave in the warm place for a day (not that long with the oven option!!) until it is thoroughly dry. To test, plug it back in, but don't bother to reassemble yet. Turn on the microwave and see if the spindle turns. If it does, it's fixed, if it doesn

I spilled liquid through the top grate of the microwave by accident and it has dripped through to the inside. Is the microwave ruined now or is it still safe to use?

Hello,

Its not ruined and it's still safe to use.

But before use, make sure you dry up the visible liquid, and wait for some hours before using the microwave again so that the liquid would dried up by then.

In summary, it is advice-able that the liquid dry first before using the unit again to avoid electric shock or damage to the unit.

I hope you understand the above.

Good luck.
