If ever you forget your passwords on windows XP especially try boot the
computer in safe mode by pressing F8 (tap repeatedly during start off
immediately when its turned on)...and log onto the administrators
account...From there go to control panel and select the user accounts
option and change your password form there...Also create a reset disk
to avoid problems later on when you next forget the password(which i
trust you won't :) )
Good Luck

(PS if it does not work there are plenty of programs that can reset these password...)
This is only possible if you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:
Turn on your laptop and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log password
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
A user name and password prompt will pop up.
On the user name type in "administrator
On the password, type in "administrator
and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.
But
in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating
system, because vista security is very tight and it is difficult to break
into its password.
Try by logging in with the administrator account. You can do this by pressing F8 while windows starts and choosing to boot into Safe Mode. Then select the Administrator account. You can then edit/change user settings once logged in.
If this does not work (like when there's a password assigned to the administrator account as well), your only solution is to do a clean install of windows xp. This is not ideal, though, as you'll lose the data on your drive (for example all files under my documents/pictures/music and the desktop.
Yes, there is a way to access your locked computer without re-installing OS. Try using this password recovery software tool as it helps to reset your lost Windows Administrator login password easily. Fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP etc operation system, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit. Should help you get rid of your problem. Regards.
1. Log on with the account you have now. 2. Go to Start -> Run and type: cmd
3. When the CMD prompt opens, type the following:
net user Administrator <any password>
4. Press enter. A message should appear. Something like task completed or operation succesfull.
5. Close the screen, log off user.
6. Try logging in as Administrator again.
Where <any password> should be replaced with the password of your choice and types without the brackets. Also mind the spaces between the words. CMD assumes the word after the user accounts name is the password, but only when the user accounts name and the password are seperated by a space.
I hope this will answer your question, please don't forget to rate this solution.
