USB port is working in bios but not in windows?

The only reason for this is the drivers for your USB are NOT installed in windows or at least, not installed properly. Check your device manager for any flags... find your motherboard on the manufacturer website and make sure that you have installed all the drivers for your motherboard. Also this is going to sound obvious, but make sure that your USB are turned ON in the BIOS.

Usb port can't work

There are basically 2 reasons why USB ports will not work besides being faulty.
1. The drivers are not installed (inf files)
2. The ports on certain motherboards can be disabled in the CMOS or BIOS setup.

To check if the USB drivers are installed you can open control panel>device manager. Scroll down to "Universal serial bus controllers and make certain these are present and installed correctly.

Also make sure your USB device is functioning properly by plugging in to a USB port on a different computer.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best wishes,

My 180SL 4GB Eclipse is frozen on the opening screen. How do I reset?

Same happened to me. I called the support number in the manual 580-272-0035, and they gave me the reason and the fix. The reason is improperly disconnecting the device from a USB port. This can cause the firmware to be corrupted. The solution is to allow the battery to completely drain, then before connecting to any power source, press the play button for 30 seconds. This resets the firmware. How to properly disconnect from a USB port is on page 17 of the manual and applies to any device.

Keyboard will not type. Function keys work when I boot up plus keyboard works if I attached to my laptop. It is plugged into a USB port..

In your BIOS, check your security settings and if for some strange reason your keyboard is not enabled upon startup, enable it. Otherwise it could be a faulty keyboard.

I have with USB port

I may need a more detailed question. If you mean that you have problem with USB it could be several reasons to that.
1. USB may be deactivated in Bios.
2. There may be no driver installed in you OS.
3. Hardware failure.
4. A more common problem is the faulty USB cable.

Sus p4p800 se motherboard

Hi bonusglass, click on the link below for all software/drivers for the ASUS P4P800 SE MB.

You will not find a driver for USB's. The reason you will not is USB's are updated through windows update service. There may be another reason your USB's are not working. Enter into your bios & open your manual to help you navigate while in the bios. See section 4.4 "Advanced menu", page 4-16. High-light & open "USB Configuration". See section 4.4.6 page 4-25.
Make sure all USB's are enabled in your bios. After making changes, save the bios & exit. The system should restart & your USB's should function.

If by some chance your USB's still do not function just let me know what operating system you are running. Include information about your CD/DVD writer. Is it external? Name & model number please.

Good luck bonusglass!

Media Card Readers

yess use the ports in the back of the computer I had the same problem with my mouse before which was also usb port connection. The reason why I say to hook it up to the back usb ports is that it is built onto the motherboard and therefore it would get recognized alot quicker if you put it there if you find that whatever you have hooked up dont have alot of usb ports buy yourself a usb hub i bought one for 2.00 it does the trick when you are limited to usb connections
