I bought a new laptop and I cant work my webcam! It wont work at all!

Try installing the WEBcam driver.
You can download WEBcam driver from the laptop manufacturer's WEB site.
I cannot give you the link to this WEB site because you did not provide details of the make and model of your laptop.

I ran into the same problem you did with my Toshiba running XP windows, I got my son who has his A certification in computers and it took him 4 hours to get it to work. I suggest you go to www.logitech.com contact customer support and the technical department.

Hold f2 on start up until it boots in to bios failing that do the same but this time hold f8 but hold down this key just touching it wont work.

i am new at computing and do not have a clue how to get to or operate the webcam can you help me

on device manager it shows under imaging devices

Download the latest driver for your in-built webcam and see if resolves the issue.

I have a toshiba satellite too. I had the same problem when i had just bought my laptop. It seems like it is a software or driver problem, nothing wrong with the hardware. Do this once or twice and this problem wont reoccur, it hasn't for me again. Go to device manager and disable the webcam, restart the computer then go back and enable it. Now the webcam will for fine with all instant messengers. I remember donig this few times when my laptop was new. Now its been over a year and this problem hasnot occured again. I hope this helps you too or your friend.

Go to control panel, open device manager, click on imaging devices.
now uninstall the camera and restart computer.
the computer will then reinstall the cam and it should work.
