The background for your desktop screen should be stored in your My Pictures folder.
In otherwords, if you have a background in mind that isn't one of the one's that comes with Windows, find the photo or illustration you want, then copy it to your My Pictures folder.
Having done this, Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.
Go to the bottom of the list, and left-click on Properties.
Now left-click on the Desktop tab.
On the middle right side, click on > Browse.
In the file tree left-click on > My Pictures, then click on the photo, or illustration you want.
{You may have to open the My Pictures folder further to find your photo, or illustration.
In otherwords you may have a folder within the My Pictures folder, and the photo, or illustration is in this particular folder}
In the desktop screen example your photo, or illustration will appear.
If it is not wide enough, go to the middle right, and under the heading > Position, click on the blue down arrow.
(To the right of the box under > Position)
You can click on Stretch, or Center, or Tile.
Look at the desktop screen example, and see if this is what you want.
If you do not like Stretch, for example, click on the blue down arrow, and click on Center.
No?
Then click on the blue down arrow, and click on Tile.
After you have chosen what you want, go below to the right, and click on Apply.
THEN go below to the left, and click on OK.
(You MUST click on Apply, then on OK)
