Hi,

The source material needs to be 1080p for the TV to switch into that mode.

As far as I know the only commonly available devices at the moment that can send 1080p are the Xbox360 and the PS3, and then only when playing compatible games.

Hope this helps to clarify,

Andy

I have a 65 inch toshiba cinema series it's says

if a large rear projection set that just says HD, it likely is HD ready which means it needs a set top box connected to the Colorstream input marked 1080 on the rear of the set--It will only likely be 1080i and not p---owner manual would confirm this.

Doesn't take 1080p

I think you are going to find it is not (model listed) a 1080P---simple way to know Google the correct model number with "specs" to see what the set has.

How do we set the picture to 1080 megapixels from 480i?

U can't just do it on ur own setting like 480i to 1080p when ever u want. No,u only get what ever the tv stations modes they set and send out only.Ur tv have the 1080p mode capability mean ur tv can pickup that 1080p mode.Dosen't mean u can change 480i to 1080p by ur self anytime u want,if the tv station is broadcating tv signal to u only in 480i u get only 480i.

Cant get dtv on my toshiba regza

Does it work with a DVD or VCR?
How is it connected? With a Coax cable or a an RCA component cable? Check that the correct video source is selected (The one associated with the input you are connected with) or that you are tuned to the correct channel on the TV if you are using the coaxial cable to connect. Could be channel 3 or 4 but I have seen them set for channels like 73.

Hi, i have a problem with my toshiba regza, 32" about 18 months old, keeps changing screen width to 4:3 from widescreen on some of the music channels on sky! keep resetting it but still does it next...

Hi Debbie,

Check the picture format setting on your Sky box.

Press Services.
4 for set up.
1 for Picture.

Theres and option that says 16:9, 4:3 or 4:3LB, make sure its set to 16:9.
Then go to Save settings and press the Select button to save the setting.

Our newly purchased Toshiba - REGZA 42" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV has a fuzzy "snowy" picture. Direct TV is our satelite provider.

First check if this happens in other external video source as well, like DVD/CD/VCR, etc. If it does, get the set replaced under warranty.

If it happens only with the Direct TV setup, try unplugging the set top box from both power supply and TV. Wait about a minute and reconnect. If the problem is rectified, the issue is with the setop box. Call Direct TV in this case.

Can the hdmi cable cause promblems with tv turning off Toshiba 47 hd 1080p" regza. tv would not turn on for some time until i disconnect hdmi cable from cable box. thought tv was broken, maybe it...

Part of your message I cant really understand but if this helps you out at all, Try to get a new box from your service provider. I have been hearing other people having problems losing signal from HDMI enabled cable boxes, if it doesnt work then just try your standard Component cables, they can still output 1080p from an xbox 360 and thats better than the 1080i you will get from cable. Some TV's just dont keep the power flowing to the HDMI reciever for some reason or another. The component cables shouldn't give you any problems though. Good luck.
