You may need to purchase a cheap external mixer with both mic and line inputs, and use that to mix the mic with the DVD audio. In most receivers, you can only select one input at a time. The output of the mixer can then be plugged into any spare receiver input, such as AUX, CD, DVD, etc. When not using Karaoke, you can simply turn the mic input down to prevent it from interfering with the DVD signal, but will still need to have the mixer on to hear DVD's.

How can I connect a microphone to yamaha rx v692

If your trying to have a PA sytem with these unit, you need to have a

separate mic mixer.

But if your trying to setup a Videoke Sing-along System , just connect

the Mic to the player Mic Input.

But if you need and feel to DIY, there is another option

and only if you can.

I have a Sa-ex900 amp hooked up to Television ,vcr and dvd player. When I turn the amp on and want to play the tuner , the television bleeds through. In fact TV plays through all buttons except VCR1

Hi,
it seems to be ,you have a possible wrong connection..I
may I recommend you to check the connections in accordance with my model connection procedures given below and correct if something is misconnected..

I believe Your Television ,vcr and dvd player all connected to each other thru Technics Receiver itself (not directly connected to each other ) and whenever you want to listen/watch any of it ,you make a selection thru Receiver..
** in order to do this both DVD and VCR 's "2xRCA audio" and "1x RCA Video" cables for "IN" and "OUT" should go to Receiver separately ..("IN" goes to "OUT" of other ..pls remember,Always reverse connected )
** Additionally your RECEIVER's prefably only "1xRCA Video Output " should go to TV to watch the video of both DVD and VCR (audio will come thru Receiver.)

Ok, now Since you successfully connected your Receiver to play video on TV (one way only ) ,here is the second reverse action to listen your TV on Receiver
** you need to connect "Audio Output " as can either be : RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" or "SCART "connector " of your TV .( every TV has different type of Audio out jacks )
** to "TV input "or "AUX input" or "Optic Cable input"
of your Receiver (whichever you want ,based on the necessary cables on your hand )
** than just switch to respective mode on
Receiver corresponding the connector you have used on the back of Receiver ..
There you go..Tv sound are on the
Receiver .

Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

How to hook up a kenwood audio-video surround receiver vr-405 to a 46" Bravia tv?

hello all you need is a good pair of RCA cables.

Use the audio output on the TV
run it to the VIDEO 1 input on the receiver

as for your DVD player vcr etc you can either run them directly to the tv as it will output whatever sound is playing to the receiver.

or

use the receiver as a video switcher and connect your components directly to it.

remember your receiver will need to be set to the input you use. ie: video 1 / dvd etc..

Hope that helps

I just bought a yamaha rx-v365 receiver and hooked to my cable box via a hdmi and optic audio cable. this is working fine but i cant get a dvd player to work via a component and coax audio cable. neither...

Make sure that the DVD player is connected into the correct inputs on the receiver and that the receiver also has the correct input selected to play. If your TV also has component video inputs it is best to connect the player directly to the TV. Otherwise, make sure you have the TV connected to the receiver via component video out.

Won't play dvd

we have two options in this case:
  1. the receiver is your main brain:
you hook up the dvd in the receiver and the tv works as a monitor (the receiver has to have video output to monitor)

2. anyone works at its own:
in this configuration the DVD (video) is hook up into the tv (any video tv input works fine) and audio goes to the receiver in any audio input.

Multiple Video Sources hooked to RT2600, but only DVD shows

I own the RCA RT2600 Home Theater System. I have never set it up, it has never been used. I have someone who wants to buy just the receiver and nothing else. I am wondering what you paid for just the receiver? I don't want to break up the system but I need money right now. I am open to suggestions as to what to do and how much to sell them for.

Thank-you

Hooking up the RT 2600

connect all the devices into the receiver inputs then there should be 1 set of outputs to the tv. This is to play everything using surround sound as all the video and audio is going through your recevier... if you want to do HD and have surround sound you will need a new receiver as this one has no hdmi inputs or outputs.

Hooking up Playstation 2

first, run your playstation 2's video and audio outputs to the inputs of the receiver. Choose whatever source you want, for example, DVD, VCR, or Video 1, 2, or 3.

Then, run the Monitor Out output on the receiver into your Video Input on your television.

Whatever source you hooked your PS2 as (ie DVD, VCR), select that source on the receiver. You should hear sound at this point.

Then select the video input on the TV that you hooked the receiver to. You should see video.

This will allow you to use the receiver as a switcher for both audio and video.
