Hi,
To my knowledge any device still under warranty and unrepairable would require the provider/manufacture to replace the unit with a comparable if not same or replacement unit.
Perhaps you may want to:
1. Send a letter of complaint to your phone unit/service provider stating all the pertinent information. A copy of your contract, proof of purchase, bills and others would help substantiate your claim; and/or
2. Send the unit to your local LG Service Center. if you are somewhere in Australia, this page may give you contact information. A similar letter would also help.
Additionally or alternately, if either of the above proves to be of no use, you can try getting in touch with country's Consumer Right Protection. For Australia, this page might point you to the right direction.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
It's a hardware problem.click HERE to contact lg mobile's customer care directly.Instead of going to optus, i would suggest u to go directly to lg service center, where it will defintely be repaired. Please don't try repairing it urself.lg service center will help you.
THANK YOU!!!

Have you called their corporate office? 12 month warranty is usually on parts. So if they cant fix it they have to replace it with one of equal value, it is a defect. You should have their customer service number on your bill.
You can also contact LG directly as well. If you need their phone number let me know. That is definetly unacceptable.
Keep me posted.
Thanks,
Lee

No actually you don't only have to deal with them. The phone warranty is a manufacturer warranty. I would also file a Better Business Bureau complaint against them as well. There is no reason your phone should not be repaired/replaced. If that is what optus said, then they are lying. Most cell phone companies will lie to you just to save them time and money. I have had Verizon Wireless lie to me for a year about a service I was paying 25$ a month for. Contact LG directly to report this and to see what they can do as It is still covered under warranty.
If you need any further assistance let me know.
Thanks,
lee
