I have a single thin horizontial black line six inches from the bottom of the screen. how can it be fixed.

Hi.

The line is probably in correspondence of the low Y buffer board, located inside the TV and connected to plasma display. In that case the board must be replaced to fix the problem. One of the symptoms of a defective low buffer board is a black line that starts from the bottom of the TV.

Regards.

Black line in the screeen from top to bottom, about 1" wide

hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up .good luck hope it works

Display just up and down colored lines, should we throw out it is about 3 years old!!!

Hi,
If you have vertical lines top to bottom most likely the panel is bad. they can't be fixed only replaced and they cost more than the tv does.

Lines

what you can do is take off the back pannel and there is a cord on the top of the board that looks like a computer board, there are many boards in the TV but the one I am talking about is twords the bottom where the video jacks plug in to the TV. Ok once you have located the pannel there is a cord on the top kinda tword the right side, it is many wires inside a black covering. What you need to do is just simply unplug it and plug it back in, do this as many times to try to fix the problem.

If that doesn;t work you can replace the cord and if that doesn't work then the screen is out and would cost WAY too much to fix, you could buy you a new name brand TV.

Maxent 27" LCD Flat Screen TV

It sounds as if it has a video processing problem or the LCD panel is going bad. Can you feel the scratches? If not it is in the panel. Also it could also be the set top box or cable box if you are using one. Also try another source like a DVD player. If it is still there, then it sounds like what i stated above. Good luck and keep me posted. Guru Jay
