Huge problem with these televisions. Mine required a 3 month negotiation with SONY (I will never buy from them again)...it turns out that the cooling fan was not designed right and actually burns out the lamp and melts the plastic lamp door.

ONLY after contacting the BBB did SONY send me my $700 back and admit fault.

Tv turns on w/pic then pic dissapears light blinks 4 times

I have the same issue, we've had to change our bulb three times in less than two years. now we have 61" expensive paper weight. Our current bulb is less than 6 months old. The TV is only 2 years old and like i said this is our third bulb.

the blue light blinks 4 times. you get sound. then a few minutes the the picture returns... then it goes out, and the cycle goes on.

A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Won't turn on with LG RU-52SZ61D 52 in. Rear Projection HDTV

The bulb you are buying is not the origianl one. The life of you bulb is too short, probably it was use before. Buy a original bulb and new.

Sony Qualia and Sony XBR 4 TV

wow. mostly all new set from the last few years have a dual tuners
NTSC and ATSC and that would depend if or which set will get the better signal. Also remember that off air is analog and the sets are now design for digital.

TV Screen pauses, looks like a puzzle, then starts again..................???

Your problem is in the digital video processor circuit. This is a hard puppy to trouble shoot unless it happens all the time. Most of the sets I have seen do this, the main video processor IC is drfective and the repair was around 3 to 4 hundred bucks.
