You need a new lense. There is most likely a plastic part that moves the lense out and in broken and this requires a lense replacement (quite expensive)

Everytime i open my digital Camera it appears in the screen that "LENS ERROR" I really dont know what to do and on how to fix it, .. . Please Help me! .. Thanks!

Sounds like the lens assembly is jammed / broken. This is the piece of the camera that extends the lens and focuses your pictures. This is unfortunately the most common problem in this type of camera. These types of repairs if done professionally can often cost near the same price as a new camera, and wouldn't come with a new warranty like a new camera would.
I would however recommend reading through this helpful article to see if there is anything you can do to fix it yourself, should you try your hand at it. Hope I have helped!

System Error (Focus)

The systems control board has detected a problem with the auto focus lens, the focus is controlled by a tiny motor that has jammed or there is a mechanical issue with the camera lens. It will require a technician that is highly skilled to deal with the situation, but the repair cost would probably not be justified.

E:61:00 on the display

E:61:00 means "Difficult to adjust focus Inspect the lens block focus reset sensor"
The simple solution to fix that error message was to the let the lens fully extend and give the lens a good whack. Possibly this error message for this means, that the auto focus motor was past the maximum set point.
goodluck
and do rate the solution if helped

I had the E18 error--lens wouldn't retract and

Focus problems are quite common after a lens error, it sounds like you still have an issue with that lens unit. If you need help, there's a great site taht just specializes in the powershot problems, nothing else at all. Try going to www.camerasandparts.com and you'll see the fix for this for your SD890 camera. I hope that helps, that site is amazing for the powershots and that's where a lot of people go for help with these. Good luck with it.

Lens error please help!!!

If the sand is in the zoom gears or auto focus gears then the camera would need to be disassembled to remove. Nice thing about this camera is that no soldering is required to take apart. A few small screwdrivers, and some tweezers would be all that is required. Canned air and a needle might also be helpful for removing the sand. If the camera just buzzes then I would say that the sand is in the auto focus gears (the stepper motor will buzz). If the auto focus lens is not fully retracted then the camera lens will not go back in (to prevent the auto focus lens from bumping against the shutter assembly)

My new Canon SX100IS is having "Lens error, Restart Camera" error

It seems the lens assembly has an internal problem and needs to be repaired.

The lens replacement requires a qualified camera repair technician, unless you want to try in repair it yourself, which requires tools (scredrivers, soldering iron, desoldering tool, magnifier glass with light, etc).

The reason of it it may be a spring or a metal post located in the focus sub-assembly, but the only way to confirm it is opening the camera and the lens assembly.

Best regards,

Please help...I can't take any pictures!

Possibility one : lens unit faulty and proper focus is not being achieved camera goes into error mode because of this and then it switches off to prevent further damage.( replace /repair lens unit ) Possibility two: shutter faulty . Lens delivers proper focus but when you try to take picture goes into error mode because shutter not coming on line or malfanctions. ( replace shutter only ).
