Hi there

There are a few possible reasons for this.
1) This could be caused by having many connections in your cable (you have joined two or more cables).
2) You could have a faulty connection at your TV or your LNB.
3) Your dish might be faulty of pointing slightly off it's target (satellite)

Keep us posted and thank you for using our service.

You can also try a hard reset: Unplug TV from AC mains and remove all cables from TV. Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

Certainly, I can help you. I would recommend going to the following link and getting the service manual so he can see first hand disassembly instructions and testing proceedures. Its only 10.99 and they email it to you shortly after purchase. The manual is a valuable resource as it will have part numbers in case you do need a new screen. heres the link.

if that doesnt work, It's going to require a trip to the shop. It can be fixed, but the expense may be prohibitive unless it's under warranty.
This is a serious problem. It may be a design problem or a defect in the video processing. or digital error buildup of some kind - it is not an easy one to diagnose without some hands-on observations and measurements.

A technician will have to put on an oscilliscope and trace through the circuits and find out where the vertical bar is being introduced. These sets are grossly complicated from a circuits point of view with several IC chips that make it difficult to troubleshoot.

I have a single thin horizontial black line six inches from the bottom of the screen. how can it be fixed.

Hi.

The line is probably in correspondence of the low Y buffer board, located inside the TV and connected to plasma display. In that case the board must be replaced to fix the problem. One of the symptoms of a defective low buffer board is a black line that starts from the bottom of the TV.

Vertical black lines appear intermitently

Does the line appear on just one input(cable,hdmi,video1,video2,ect) or on all of them? The reason why I ask is it may be just an issue with one input setting on the television and you may be able to use a different input for a temporary fix of the problem. Plasma telivisions run very hot and it may be overheating. Try using a small mountable fan above the TV pointed into the back heat vents and see if keeping it cooler keeps the issue from happening. These TVs are repairable but usually cost more to repair than what it is worth due to plasma TVs are very in-expensive now.

See if you can center the picture in the setup menu. It sounds like it's just off center.

Black bar running from top to bottom in the screen.

There are horizontal and vertical relays in plazmas that go out over time and cause this to happen , You can get an estimate from a local tv repair service in some cases they can give it to you over the phone. Good luck.
