I moved the box to another room and now I get a message light and cannot get the power button to work

Especially with newer systems (ie MoCA) you can't just move a receiver from one room to the next, they are set up more like a computer network with one receiver performing most actions and other receivers accessing the main receiver for content. Find the area where the cables all meet and make switch the cable that is going to the room the receiver was in with the cable going to the room the receiver is. If you can't tell which cable is which, you can get cable tracers for a few bucks, but it may be easier to call your provider for a technician.

My receiver (new) will not turn on? Is there a reset button?

There isn't a reset on these receivers.

If it doesn't show a power light on it, then try disconnecting the power for 30s.
If still no power light
  1. check the outlet it's connected to
  2. disconnect all cables from the back of the receiver but power and try again.
  3. connect the receiver to a different outlet (still with nothing else connected)
if you still don't get a power light on it then the receiver is dead.

What is wrong when turning on TV, the "Press OK" message comes on but nothing happens when OK is pressed?

make sure the AT&T button at the top of the remote it pressed. If that isnt the issue, a soft reset could fix the issue. Can do this by holding the power button until the power light goes off then back on again. If that doesnt work, you may need a new receiver.

Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here!!! If you want to do this! You would need a tech to come out and install the DVRs in the new rooms. If you try to move the reveivers, you will only get an Acquiring Satellite Signal message. If this has not been resolved, you can find us on Twitter, or blog back!

My receiver's Power light comes on when I aply power to the receiver but after 5 seconds goes off. Why?

dave2551,

When the receiver is rebooted, the power light will come on and then go out. This is normal. After several seconds the power light will illuminate again and it will acquire satellite signal. Again, when power is removed and restored to the receiver, it is normal for the green power light to go out and then illuminate again. I hope this helps.

I have "2 room service" The #1 TV picture will move-stop-move-stop....The #2 TV is OK. I've tried with no success to contact Dish.

Hi troymass this Mike Houston of DISH Network. The one thing we want to do is a hard reset by pulling out the receiver power cord for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. the receiver will power back on its own and reacquire to get the strongest signal. If the problem still persists you can run a check switch test MENU-6-1-1 and select Check Switch and then TEST. Once test is completed exit out of all menus.

My box wont turn on theres just a red light

if you have tried it in another room and it still wont come on, some of the receivers have a detachable power cord on the back, check to make sure that is in tight. otherwise the box has gone bad and nothing you can do about it.

Moving tv to another cable outlet

I f you have cable at the new location follow it back to a splitter. Remove the one you used to use and screw in the one you want to use. They should all terminate at the same location.
