You have to wait this out form some time and even then it may not resolve but can.

Put your camera sans battery, mem card and everything open, into a paper bag. A large one. then close the top by just cruching down the area 1/3 down from the top until you create a chimney of sorts.

Put this in a area that gets direct sunlight for a good hour or two. This natural oven will assist in drying out the residual moisture, but you don't want to over do it and warp the plastic so keep a close eye on it and even put an instant meat thermometer through the bag so you can monitor the inside temp.

The bag as an oven will draw moisture into the paper. However, this process releases ethelyne gas from the bag. Good for ripining fruit but without an adequate chimney to keep the inside temp around 150 degrees or just less you will over stress the plastic and only do this for an hour or so and for a day or two, then let room temps dry it out. This may take quite a few days.

A camera shop will do much the same thing before they start replacing parts. If in the long run your monitor is still trashed, you will have to have that serviced and tell the techs everything you've done so far.

Let us know in a few days how it went. Once you are satisfied, you need to restore factory defaults all the way around and then make adjustments to your screen to suit you. If it won't respond you have to have the screen replaced by the more important parts may be good to go from there.

If you do not have a SD card or if you have the HP Photosmart software (either Photosmart Premier or Photosmart Essentials) installed on a Windows PC, you should instead download the HP Photosmart Automatic Firmware Update utility for your HP Photosmart camera.
Firmware version 3.04.06 includes the following improvments:
· Improvements to charging a rechargeable battery that has very low voltage..
1. Define your HP Cameras and MP3 Player device model.
2. Define your operating system to install your HP Cameras and MP3 Player device
3. Search Cameras and MP3 Player driver category
4. Find HP Cameras and MP3 Player driver
5. Select HP Photosmart R967 Digital Camera Firmware 3.04.06 Manual
6. Download HP Photosmart R967 Digital Camera Firmware 3.04.06 Manual
7. Install HP Photosmart R967 Digital Camera Firmware 3.04.06 Manual

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Avoid getting your digital camera wet. If you're going to the beach
or expect it to rain, carry along some plastic ziplock bags to place
your camera in and to protect it from the elements.

    Damage to a
the lens and other digital camera parts can be caused by prolonged
moisture and humidity. This should be even more of a concern when a
camera is stored and won't be used for a long time.
    In spite of
your best efforts, if condensation forms on your digital camera, remove
the batteries and memory card. Wait about an hour or until moisture is
no longer present. If this is not enough, store your camera with silica

Silica gelSilica gel acts as a shield of dry air in
an enclosed storage area such as a camera bag. It is a blue colored
"desiccant" that adsorbs moisture and condensation. The color changes
to white or pink when the gel has absorbed the maximum amount of

When silica gel has absorbed the maximum amount of
moisture, it can be reused after drying it out. The gel is
"regenerated" by placing it in the sun or heating in a microwave or
    conventional oven.

Silica gel can be purchased in packets,
canisters and cartons. Keep a few bags of silica gel in your camera bag
and each time you store it. The more equipment you have, the more bags
or canisters you should pack when storing it.

    A word of caution:
if you drop your digital camera in the water, it may be damaged beyond
repair. Contact your camera manufacturer immediately for advice.

    Good Luck

Actually the moisture must have entered the leads of the display...

the leads should be removed and then it should be dried so take the moisture off..

better take it to a service is risk to manually operate the sensitive parts inside and you could end up damaging the display

I have a Sealife dc1200 camara. On my last trip moisture from the rinse tank, clean water, got into the housing. Blow dryed it right away. Removed battery and card. Now will not turn on. Can it be saved?

The camera is depth tested to 200 feet so the pressures exerted with flowing water in a rinse tank I wouldn't thing could exceed those pressures. Is this maybe a warranty thing I'd check first before doing to much more and possible voiding any warranty.

I've had mild success after overturning a canoe with some of my gear buy placing it in a container of uncooked rice. The rice actually draws the moisture out I'm still after two years using the camera but my flip phone bit the big one after the trip, I suspect because it was on and active when it hit the water.

Also I would be looking at the seals around the battery compartment and door to the memory card because something isn't right. All it takes though is a little dirt on one of those seals to wick the water into the camera.

Another thing is an atmosphere change as in temperature if the rinse tank water was hot after bringing the camera up from a colder depth you would create a condensation problem almost instantly.

I would also suggest that you clean the battery contacts well with the eraser end of a new pencil more polish then scrub, the eraser will remove oxides that will form on the terminals. Clean both the battery and the battery compartment.

It might not be a seal it might have been the temperature of the rinse tank that caused the problem. If nothing works then the only thing I'd suggest is retuning it for a service. What also will happen in a condensation situation is there will be water spots on the inside of the lens and there is no way except dismantling it that will clean that off.

The camera is worth the service, I have see it listed at around $800.00 I can't see the service being much more then $150.00. That's if the cleaning of the terminals and the rice didn't work.

Cheers best of luck with that

The R967 uses standard SD cards. You should be able to purchase them at any department, electronics, or office-supply store. You may also see them at many drugstores and supermarkets.

My olympus sw 1050 got wet in the inside. please help..

A cell phone and a camera has the same solution.
Your camera can be saved.
You will need
1. A plastic container with a lid.
2. Blow dryer.
3. Towel
4. Two silica gel packs
STEP 1. Remove your camera's battery
STEP 2. Remove your memory card.
STEP 3. Clean the camera with towel roughly.
STEP 4. With your blow dryer, dry your camera with warm or cool.
STEP 5. Place your camera, battery and memory card into a plastic container with silica gel packs. Allow this package to leave for at least three days for preventing your camera from moisture.
STEP 6. After three days remove your camera from plastic container. Try to use it with its battery. If it does not work. Then try to use the camera with a charger or with a DC adopter. If it works then you will need to change your battery with a new one.

You can see these steps in a video use the link below.

I hope it is helpful.

My camera fell in the water will it still work after it is aired out? Will me memorie card still be good too?

It's hard to really say. I guess it depends on how much water it took on and whether the camera was on at the time. Either way, I would suggest you immediately open the battery and memory case and take out the memory card and battery. Then get the good ole blow drying out and blow warm air inside the camera for a few minutes in the hopes of drying out any water or moisture that might have gotten into the camera. Next, leave all the covers open for a few hours or more (Patience is key! A whole day would even be better) and then put the memory card and battery back in. Then, turn the power on and hope that it works.

Good luck!

My daughter has a Coolpix L18. She took it to the Mermaid Parade at Coney Island on a rainy day. Apparently, the camera got wet. Now when you turn it on, the screen is white. No image whatsoever. Does this...

Digital cameras as with any digital equipment is very sensitive to moisture and needs to be kept dry. If this happened recently (within the last 2 days) there could still be hope, remove the batteries and flashmemory card, with a hairdryer on GENTLE heat and from a distance of one foot direct the slightly heated air into the battery compartment for a few minutes, alternate by blowing air gently around the whole casing of the camera. Do not use very hot air as this WILL misform the plastics of the camera. Do this a few times , then charge the batteries again put in memory card and try again.

Sigh no sign of life?

micro SMD Fuse blew on the board, needs to be serviced and that may not be worth the camera, but high end cameras are worth it, maybe yours. I could look at it for you, just the round trip price of postage. pishta68 at hotmail dot com

When i insert the memory card the camera freezes.

It sounds as if either the file allocation table or some data on the card has become corrupted.

Have you got access to another camera (friends or family) that you could try it in?

Have you got a card reader on your PC? If so, you should be able to re-format the card using Windows. (Go to My Computer, right-click on the card reader icon and select format)

Hopefully this will cure the problem. If not, you should be able to change it if it is new.
