Try this.
Hold down the Power/Reset button for about 15 seconds to perform a normal reset.

If you would like to reset the device to it's original factory settings, you can do so by selecting Settings from the Main Menu, and selecting Reset All.

SanDisk Sansa C240 1 GB MP3 Player only shows half empty battery picture on screen and wont turn on. So it needs fixing.

Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved from Misc to model category.

Replace the internal Li-Po battery, but try a reset first.

If your Sansa player is freezing, not charging or not turning on, the first thing to try is a reset of the unit. This will normally clear any temporary condition that may cause the player to freeze or not shut off completely, it's a bit like when your PC crashes and you need to re-start it to clear the error.

It wont turn on ive tried to reset it and it only turns on on the computer or when i charge it

thats a generic problem with SANSA Clip....the battery wire must have come off....if you're confident at soldering,u need to open the unit and solder the wires in the right place....generally the red wire comes off.... the body is held together by clips rather than screws so u need to pry the body with some thin tool....
