Question about Nikon Coolpix 4200 Digital Camera

Computer won't recognize the photos on my memory card

I took lots of photos on vacation.  When I tried to download them the computer wouldn't recognize the camera.  I went to look at the photos again and some of them say no photo data, others are fine, and still more come in okay and then a split second later have green and purple lines through them.  Is there any way I can salvage at least some of my photos?  Is this a camera or chip problem?  I was able to look at them without this problem yesterday before I flew back.

If you have them on a removable card, try them in a card reader.

It's quite likely there's nothing wrong with the photo's, but your camera may have a problem.

Canon power shot sd1000 won't connect to my computer anymore. The computer does not sense that there are pictures on the camera!

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I just bought an Olympus SP-600UZ after comming back from vacation I am trying to transfer the pictures I took that are in the intern memory. I downloaded the program IB but when it opens it says that the...

The pictures are in the internal memory? If so you need to purchase a memory card for that camera and transfer the internal memory pictures to the memory card and then you will be able to download them to the computer. Your camera takes a SD or a SDHC memory card make sure it's unlocked and formatted to the camera the instructions for formatting are in your manual
Here is a diagram to makes sure the switch on the SD card is in the unlock position

How to download photos to computer

Have you tried using a card reader by removing the SD card/memory card from your digicam and inserting it in a card reader. It is much faster copying your pictures to your computer than transferring by installing/connecting the digicam to the computer. I hope this helps.

I have a sony dsc-f717 took several pictures and now i get format error 13:01 and can't retrieve the photos I've took and veiwed. Help retrieving

1st, try and download the pictures via your computer and a memory card adapter. If you're computer doesn't recognize the card through an adapter,

2) go to www.ita.sel.sony.com
Search by the model number of the Memory Stick. There is Memory Stick recovery software. follow the steps for the download and recovery.

3) On new/blank memory cards, I sometimes have to format the MS in the camera first, then everything works fine.

Lost vacation photos...message is memory card failure

As long as the xD card was not formatted it is possible to recover the images that were accidently erased, lost or corrupted. You can go to the following website link and download an image recovery software program that is free of charge.
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/
You want to download a program called Zero Assumption Recovery. It is a very simple program to use and many people have had much success in recovering lost images.

Data recovery is a booming industry, and many appropriate services and software can be found by searching regional phone and business directories or the Internet for terms such as "image recovery" or "data recovery".

Sd memory card not read by computer

Reformat the card from the camera. You didn't specify camera model but every digital camera has a menu to format media.

If you don't succeed try to connect your camera to the computer and read the photos.

If that doesn't succeed either take your camera to service.
