I do not have this controller and seem to need it.
I have a Zenith H27D35DT TV and want to program the channel banks. The manual says that I need an MBR3477 remote control to do this but this model is no longer available. I have a OneforAll URC -4201 plus a handfull of other universal controllers layint around. Is there a way to set one of these up to perform the needed functions?
Re: I do not have this controller and seem to need it.
I had to use two remotes one universal ge remote had a menu button and seperate enter button and a multi function remote that came with my cable box (i needed the directional pad) then i did the following: push and hold the menu button, the menu will appear then disappear, once it disappears release the button and enter 9876 then press enter. a different menu will appear and it will b three black lines, one at the top of the screen, one in the middle and one at bottom. the middle line has 3 sections the first part is the item number the second part is the description and the last part is the on/off switch using either a 0 or 1. push down on the directional pad until u get to the 00 factory settings 0 and change the 0 to a 1 with the right button on the directional pad. then scroll up to 20 channel lock 0 (i think its 20, it may be like 22 but it is in the twenties for sure) and change the 0 to a 1. then go back down to the 00 factory settings and change the 1 back to 0 then turn the tv off. when u turn the tv back on it will either automatically ask u to auto tune or u will have to go to auto program to program the channels. there are like 80 different menu items, be sure not to mess with any other ones unless u know what ur doing, u could cause ur tv not to function properly or even be able to turn on.

I found the following reference to resetting anything related to the ZN110 remote:
"This remote control works well for all the basic functions on the television: changing channels, adjusting volume, and turning the set on and off. There is not a way to program the TV with the remote control, so if you need to reset the channels after a power outage, for example, you have to do it manually on the TV set itself."
The SETUP button on the case accesses the menu. Press Channel + to select Language. Press Volume - - now the tv will be reset to factory condition. Press Channel + to start the AUTO PROGRAM and wait for it to finish.
Press Channel - to exit it. That is all. If you need more then all the menu options can be accessed thru the key on the tv.
1. While pressing and holding down the TV POWER button, press the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN repeatedly until your TV is turned on (or turned off if you had it on).
2. Release TV POWER button when the TV turns on or off. The remote's TV POWER button will now control the TV.
Be sure that your TV is set to channel 3 or 4 if you are using the RF cable or Video 1, etc if using the Audio/Video cable. The Installation Guide should appear. The "improved" picture that you are seeing is simply the analog throughput, not the digital conversion.
Manually turn on the device( TV.,VCR,etc) to be controlled.
Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator stays on,then release the code search button.
Press and quicly release the desired mode button(TV,VCR,etc). The red indicator blinks off once.
Press the CHaNNEL UP button repeteadly(up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled Changes Channel. The red indicator blinks off with each button press. If you overshoot the code required, press Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel.

If you have a remote that can access menu and your remote has number buttons and an enter key, you can follow this instructions to go to installer menu. Note that the installer menu is slightly different for each model, eg. some options are not available.
I was able to go to installer menu using two universal remotes. The remotes that I used were Dish Network 3.0IR and RCA RCU300WBL. Both remotes programmed for Zenith H2531DT TV. The reason why I had to use two remotes is that Dish Network remote was only able to access menu. It did not have ENTER key but RCA remote had ENTER key but I wasn't able to go to menu with that.
To go to installer menu (different from regular menu):
- Hold MENU for 8 seconds. - Press 9, 8, 7, 6 and ENTER in the sequence. You should be in the installer menu now. There should be a line that looks something like this: 03 VERT POS 13
Use SELECT button to scroll through each option, and ADJ button to adjust the values for each option. For example, to enable the front panel buttons on your tv, set KEY DEFEAT to 0. Other options that you might want to check:
CHAN LOCK which locks your TV to a single channel and wont let you change (set 0 to turn off) START CH/VOL will set your tv to a specified channel when you turn on tv. (set 255 to disable)
You will have to look in the menu for some of the options because they are different for different TV series. A good place to find manual is on www.zenith.com or http://safemanuals.com/
I work in an old hotel and it took me few hours to figure out how to disable start channel lock. It drove me nuts. I hope someone finds this useful.
1. hold in "code search" till light stays on
2. press channel up until tv changes channel 3. press enter as soon as channel changes note: if you pass the right code just use channel down to get back to it
