Question about Norcent Technologies PT4231 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
Thanks for your reply. I hope it will help me. I have 3 quick questions.
1. I am quite a layman when it comes to TV, but what I don't understand is that the TV is perfectly fine until it reaches the operating temperature?
2. If something is broken, shouldn't it always be full of vertical lines?
3. How come they only show on dark pieces of picture?

No on the contrary, most defective components on a defective board will malfunction when they reach operational temperature, and a chemical called component cooler is often employed to locate the faulty component. Semiconductors are weird as some malfunction when cold and work fine when warm, but the majority will fail when operating temperature is reached. If you need assistance please let me know.
