Make sure the settings are set for speaker use in the Sounds and Audio Devices under Control Panel. also check that it's using your sound device driver installed.

No speaker sound

There sometimes are three connectors on a sound card that are similar. A speaker output, microphone input, and stereo headphone output.

Try all three, if you accidentally put it on the microphone input you won't get sound output of that one, so try another.

Also, check in the speaker control panel for the sound to be checked to mute or volume turned all the way down.

DELL SPEAKER SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING

Suggest you abandon the mini-phone jack connection - sounds like a wire is broken in that connector. Use the RCA stereo outputs from your TV into the Dell surround system. You may need a couple of adapter cables to make that work. Take photos of the connectors on the back of your TV and on the back of the Dell Surround system. Take those to an electronics store like Best Buy and ask for help there to get the cables you need (telling them that the mini-phone (headphone) plug is giving you trouble.

No sound coming from my new speakers. the sound card is installed and when I check the soundon the computer it says it is working properly. I dont know what to do. sound volume is alll the way up

Check Socket Connections. Speaker connector should be plugged to Green Colored Socket.. Check for "Mute" and that should be in turned off. if problem continues, check the speaker cable and speaker circuit section.

My Dell AS501 does not produces sound. I have

make sure the power is hooked to the back of the monitor, and that the speakers are hooked into it. make sure it is switched on and volume is at 50% or higher. if it still doesnt work, try hooking an mp3 player to the speaker jack. if they work, its the computer. if it doesnt work, replace the speakers.

Hi, They suddenly stopped working, think I

Try another speaker set.
If this does not fix it, then consider the sound card if it is removeable, get a new one. If it is internal, turn off the sound and install a sound card.
